Show off your local bands

Anyone have a few local bands/music groups that they want to share with the rest of us?

There are about 4 local bands I know of from Louisville, if not somewhere else in Kentucky. They're all rock bands, but 3 of the 4 are actually good. Outspoken is that band that isn't very good. Hell, I couldn't even find an official website for them... :/

As for the others, FLAW, Tantric, and Days Of The New are pretty good.

Days Of The New have had 3 CD's thus far since 1998. They've gone on tons of tours, sold millions of albums, and had their big beginning break slotting in a Metallica tour. The original founder of the band, Travis Meeks, is still with DOTN until today, but as for the other 3 members (Vest, Todd Whitener, and Matt Taul), they left after the first album (The Orange Album) to form Tantric. Meeks found new local people for today's DOTN, who would still stick around for the next 2 albums, but I forgot who they are.

As for Tantric, they're still the previous 3 that were the original DOTN, but found Hugo as the 4th band member. Since 1999, they've been just as sucessful as DOTN, but I'm not quite sure how many CD's they've released.

And with FLAW, they're just one of the more recent, but very talented Louisville bands. They've had a few CD's before their current one, but I don't know what they're called. Before EP, those records just failed misserably. Chris Voltz, lead singer and founder, put together this 5-man rock band along with Jason Daunt, Ryan Jhurs, Lance Arny, and drummer Chris Ballinger. Many drummers would come an go, but Chris is the current one on Through The Eyes, and is here to stay. Their debut album Through The Eyes released on October 2001, with the song off that album Only The Stong chosen to be put on the soundtrack for The Scorpion King. They've also been on European and Stateside Ozzfests, but without Daunt, due to some personal issues. Now they rock as a 4-piece, taking their way to full stardom and being on the top 200 list.

With Tantric and FLAW, on their homepages, you can listen to some of their songs via Flash. As for all of them, there are Audio/Video downloads and streams.

A very close Japanese friend I knew a while ago once said to me "Watashi no koto wo oboeta, onegai shimasu...Yakusoku?"

I forgot his name though...

I'm from a small town of Eden. And unfortunately, the band that's from this town's website is down. The name of the Band is Lunacy Driven. They have a show coming up February first in North Carolina, Greensboro, and if they get a large turnout, they get to open up for Papa Roach in Martinsville, VA, I think it is, March 18th. They're a metal band, and the lead singer has punk roots. The music's awesome, and that's coming a lot, considering the fact that Kyle, the guitarist likes Metallica, and I hate Hair bands.

I think it would be a cool idea if winamp.com had a place to upload original tunes by users and supporters. I'd love to do it, i'm sure there are others...

My friend Goober is trying to start a band because that is what he really wants to do when he's older is play in a band. He's a really really good guitar player too. He got a band together for a talent show at school they were really good, but afterwards all the credit for the band went to the singer and he was only in the band to say he was in a band. After that show the others didn't really want to be part of it no more, but Goober isn't giving up, and another one of my friends and I are trying to help me as much as we can. Anyway my cousin is in a band, he's the bass player they're pretty good if you want to check them out, this is their website Shaky Jake

http://www.morphedmedia.com/solution.rar - a few newer ones.
http://www.morphedmedia.com/track02.mp3 - new one.

my friend's band, formerly called Internal Surfacing, now called Solution. he writes and composes everything in studio, the band just plays live, for the most part. kinda like NIN.

We USED to have all the great bands. Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and a couple others (I forgot). Now, nothing good comes from the Seattle area anymore.
