How to deactive Metadata and activate only id3?

Hey folks,

I'm using Winamp 5.3:

I just saw that the Media Library somehow complete id3-tags.
For example, I have some songs where there is absolute no Album id3-Tag but Winamp displays one...when I try to remove it, nothing happens. When I replace it, it works fine, but I don't want to have a Album Tag set there...(btw. when i remove it again, it shows the old tag from the beginning, which I didn't set)

So how can I disable these settings (I tried everything in the Metadata Reading Settings and the Watchfolder Options...nothing did work)

thanks & greetings

Preferences > Media Library > Local Media > Watch Folders Tab
Hit the Configure button under "Metadata Reading Settings" and select the "No guessing" option.

Then you have to remove the tracks from the Media Library and re-add them.

Is it possible without removing them? I would prefer not to lose my playing counts, etc.

With 5.32 you can use "Read metadata on selected files" from the media library right-click menu, instead of removing and re-adding files.

hmm...did as you two said...doesn't work.
Some songs still have this album tag (and no, winamp is the only programm which recognize this)

I'm just guessing here - but try disabling "Read Lyrics3" in Prefs->Input->Nullsoft MPEG Audio Decoder->Titles/Tags, and then doing the "Read Metadata on Selected Items" things again (and being sure to disable guessing as stated already)

Just for future reference:

Lyrics3 is an old/outdated tagging standard. Winamp is capable of reading these tags, but not editing or removing them. This is why they still showed up even though you had removed the ID3 tags.
