Must-have Firefox addons

I'm a bit slow these days but I recently bumped into this very neat Firefox addon called "Tab Effect". What it does? It adds a neat effect to switching tabs (I love eye-candy ):

Download/install: here

I was wondering if I missed out on other important/similar plugins? Besides Tab Effect I currently use Web Developer, IE Tab (not lite), FxIf (EXIF viewer) and Remember Mismatched Domains (partly for work, it takes away warnings about SSL mismatches and such). I have reasons not to use regular plugins like NoScript and an ad blocker because of multiple users which wouldn't know how to handle them.

Doesn't IE do antialiased resizing in its zoom mode? I've certainly seem some browser do it. Maybe it was Opera.

Also these OTT effects are silly. I have a window switcher on my desktop that works just like Apple's CoverFlow in iTunes, but I never use the damned thing.

I used Tab Effect for a while, but it caused FF to occasionally hang on start-up so I've stopped using it.

@Kaboon...

I LOVE Tab Effect and I'm recommending it to everyone on earth (and beyond)!

Thanks for pointing it out

And I have absolutely no slow-down or hanging problems with it, as some others seem to have, who previously posted above.

The effect itself slows down switching tabs.

Yeah gaekwad... but only for the few milliseconds it takes for the effect to complete, and I can certainly live with that.

I'm pretty sure I'd only use it for a couple of minutes before disabling it (even if it should run smoothly on my box).

But back to neat add-ons:
Leet Key better fits my idea of fun.
W3ZhZnJlZyBib3l2dG5nYmVsIGdocHhyZS12YWZoeWdd

Then, for forums, last.fmCode (which also covers regular bbcode).

And, for Youtube&co, UnPlug.

Yeah, tried the tab effect thing. Slows down switching between tabs too much. Pretty, though.

I don't have time to write that. It'd be like a short novel.

I haven't seen Firebug mentioned yet. That has got to be one of my favorite add-ons for Firefox.

Don't forget Web Developer.

I used to have a ton of addons but I narrowed them down to a few.

I recommend:

SpeedDial
Firefox Showcase
Tab Preview
Stylish
AB+
& Google Preview

Someone already mentioned Webdeveloper. I would also recommend FireFTP. Makes it easy to manager FTP accounts without having to load up another program.

The animation is too slow I think for regular use with lots of tabs.

Some extensions that I use and find useful:

AdblockPlus => Blocks ads
Noscript => Blocks scripts
Flashblock => Blocks unwanted flash objects
Foxclocks => Lets you know what time it is in other areas of the world
TabMixPlus => neat control over tabs
Colorfultabs => colors tabs with different colors
CopyLinks => Copies all links in a selection to the clipboard
Dictionary Tooltip => gives you the definition of any word simply by double-clicking on it on a webpage
Flashgot => Adds download manager support to FF
Firesomething => Renames firefox randomly on startup
Nightly Tester Tools => I use it to make incompatible themes/extensions compatible
Quicknote => Adds a very neat notepad to FF
Switchproxy => Lets you change proxies on the fly

and a bunch of others too

2 Must-have addons if you're using Vista or Windows 7:

Glasser - adds the aero glass effect to the toolbars

Personal Menu - you can hide the menu items with three toolbar buttons, similar to IE7

Read It Later is awesome for the draconian firewall at work. Just save things for when I get home.

And for NoScript users, the extension is apparently up to no good:
