How do I download music from website?

I am a brand new user of WinAmp - and totally bewildered. What I want to do is download
music programs available from a members-only site. They were recorded in .flv format and will allow storage in .wmv format.

I dont see how I can the two things: WinAmp and my desired website.

Can anyone give me an idea on how to link WinAmp and that site for the downloads?

Much obliged, folks

Oh my, I just notice I dropped a word in my query. That second paragraph
should read "I dont see how I can connect together the two things: WinAmp
and my desired website."

Still would appreciate help, if there's anyone who even reads this message.

I'm not too sure what you're really wanting to do.

The media library has a thingy for downloading podcasts if that's relevant.
Also if you press CTRL + L you can enter the URL of the file you want to play.

I have seen the mention of CTRL + L plus entering the website but that just does not seem to work here. Why don't you have a look yourself? That would surely make for better understanding of what I see as my problem.

Go to http://www.jazzfestivalmarketing.com/live-1005531.html. You will see 13
- mostly black - screens of which 12 have a download link underneath. Clicking on the
link, that particular file will be downloadad to my HD, after I enter the appropriate destination directory.

Alternately, I can also click on the little PB triangle underneath the black screen/window.
This will bring up both pictures and sound but using the Flash player provided by the site -
albeit at a very, very low level audio.

WinAmp has far better audio, for one thing, but the WinAmp screen is just sitting there on
my monitor, doing nothing. And that is what my question is all about: How can I either listen to, or download these programs - or sessions - through/with WinAmp?

Using CTRL + L does not at all seem to help with that, because _what_ URL would I be
expected to enter there? This just does no seem to make sense. Not to me, anyway, and
not at this time.

The link is 404 and the site looks to be pay walled otherwise.

When I say the URL I mean the url to the media file (aka the flv), other than that you'll have to download the file and play it.

Winamp is designed to play music, not scrap web pages looking for media files to play.

Hi morab,

I sure know the meaning of URL - the term just didn't make sense in connection with
what I had been told (incorrectly) that I could do with WinAmp.

I had been told I could use WinAmp to download certain Jazz events recorded in .wmv and accessible on the band's website. That website, of course, does have a URL but the individual, downloadable .wmv files do not.

So now, I have used my regular download software and that, of course, worked like a charm.

WinAmp, as a player, works just fine.

The concept of individual .wmv files having their own URL still does not make sense to me but I am past that point now. Thanks for the reply, though.
