'restore from archive' with different ipod?

i've run into a huge problem...

the music on my hard drive was deleted in its entirety, and before i could copy my music from my 80 gb classic back onto the hd, my ipod broke. after months of trying to fix it and reading everything i could, i had to get a new one.

now, i have an archive file with all of my music, but i cannot access it, as i do not have that same 80 gb classic anymore. is there a way that i could somehow restore my new 80 gb classic with that archived file?

this is my last shot; otherwise i'm going to have to face the fact that i lost my entire library!

Sorry, the archive file does ONLY contain the metadata needed on the iPod, NOT your music. Look at the size.

Haha, of course. I think I deluded myself into thinking otherwise.

Anyway, thank you for your response and I'd certainly like to thank you for keeping the ml_ipod project going for as long as you did.
