"no space left on device" error

i have an 5.5 gen 30gb ipod, first time i sync it, everything was good, but since yesterday, every now and then i get this message

"Couldn´t write new iPod database, no space left on device

Your latest changes couldo not be saved, but no need to worry, simply delete some songs now, and all will be fine"

the thing is that the ipod shows 6Gb of free space... i download the new version of plugin hoping it solved the problem.. but no, still happening... when it does, i have to shut down winamp, eject ipod, an restart the sync whenever i left it... i have to sync album by album to make sure they got into the ipod... really sucks...

First: Try the latest patch 2.03p21 (see sig). If the problem persists, post the debuglog after the failure (see FAQ).

We had a similar problem some days ago, seemed to be a hardware problem - Winamp reported wrong capacity.

I had this problem, it was with the album art, I found it best to remove the Album Art DB files and then resync the art.

I recently found a bug in autofill whereby it erroneously interprets the "space to fill" value, which is in MB, as a byte count. This led to a bogus "out of disk space" error, as 80,000MB was being mistaken for 80,000 bytes. Can't store much in 80KB, now can you?

I suspect there may be a similar problem in the syncing code.

I get this error as well, with a new 6G 160GB iPod. I've only got 12G of stuff on it at the moment.

I own a 6g 80gb ipod classic and also had this problem also.It is because itunes does something to the database.mlipod pops a message asking me to restore database but all playlist will be gone. You simply have to use itunes to restore your player first then format your player with mlipod. That is what i done. But my songs are gone and have to reupload it

If you format it, the songs are gone. But you always have the "repair" options, which should work in a case like this.
