is there a program to extract pictures?

Hi. As some of you know I lost all the pictures on my computer

Anyway, I know I have posted a ton here in the forums and was wondering if there was a way to just get the pictures that I have posted from the threads so I can save them on my computer.

Any ideas ??

I think ShyShy is right.
If you accedentally deleted them they might be recoverable.

no, my computer had to be totally reformatted and the disk that I had them all backed up on was destroyed.

I guess I will just keep going through all the threads someday.

How did you get the disk destroyed? I personally have all my pictures on my HD, a backup that I weekly update on a other HD. And when I have about 550 - 650 MB I burn on a CD aswell.

My suggestion would be to start with your earliest posts and work your way up to present day. You've got a little under 3000 posts, if you recruited just 10 people you reasonably trust (these are publicly available photos we're talking about, not exactly national security) you could split the work up between everyone (for instance, Scor could look at your posts between Aug. 2001 and Jan. 2002; I could do jan-jun 2002, etc.) and you'd have all the picts you ever posted here back in a week or two at the outside. Distribute the work out and the problem is a lot less tedious(if you can find willing victi...err volunteers ).

I was away for a while.
But I'm feeling much better now.

I would be more than willing to help, missy.

hi,

even after a format data can be recovered as long as it has not been overwritten again.
I did format my music drive once, and used getdataback for ntfs, and got it all back.

greets,

sven

sven how did you do that? I had to send the computer to the factory to get it fixed and they are the ones who re-formatted my computer.

I would do anything to get the pictures back. They are all the memories of my children.

I used a program for it,
it was getdataback, it exists for fat and ntfs,
and you can find it on http://www.runtime.org/
(there are more programs like this but this is the one I used).

You just run it and it searches the disk for what can be recovered, but i had the luck that it was not my primary disk, so no new data was written.

It is not free software but ...

if you have any questions ...

greetings
sven

I would recommend you to use Stellar Phoenix Digital Media Recovery- Photo recovery software. Although I haven't used this software but I am pretty sure it may sort out your problem.Dowload the demo version from the site http://www.stellarinfo.com/digital-media-recovery.htm. Demo version will show you the recovered file.
Best of luck

I'm really sorry. I lost a lot of important pictures in a fire. If the drive still has the data, you try some of these filesystem utilities. After a format, it isn't really promising, but this is my best shot.

http://www.tusafe.com/nonags/diskmg.html

Undeleting files is twitchy, but after a format.... not promising... I am sorry, but this is my best shot.

If there is recoverable data, using the computer can only scramble things worst. You might seek professional help, but rebuilding a wiped filesystem would be a hunt and peck approach.

The data may still be there, but ????. I dunno. Doesn't sound good.

Sorry. With the file allocation tables gone?. If you posted the pictures someplace?. You almost must have to display them here. You didn't serve them off your own machine?. Are they still on a server someplace?.

If you look at archive.org and find "The time machine", maybe they grabbed some?.

Disk you backed them up on "destroyed". How destroyed?. If it's not totally destroyed, like maybe damaged. That might be a place to look for recoverable data.

Does anyone else think SPAM when they read this posted as a first post in a two year old thread?

Note that he never used the software but knows that the demo version will help.

Where'd I put those banned aids?

Usually deleted data can still be recovered with help of data recovery software, I may recommend you one I have used before: Photo Recovery. It is good at recover data deleted by mistake.

I hate when that happens... I think old members are back only to find a bump.
