SOUTcast sc_serv and sc_trans binaries for AIX 5L
Does anybody know where or how I can go about getting both sc_serv and sc_trans binaries for AIX 5L?
I've got an IBM f50 (Pro PC) with Dual processors and 2 Gig of RAM ... I would like to use this for my streaming audio rather than the linux box I'm using. I understand that if I could get the linux source I could easily compile it on the AIX 5L box (as it has linux tool kit etc). Please advise. Regards, JJRock. |

Sorry, the source isn't available.
I think the available binaries are what the Nullsoft team has access to build on. |

That's tragic. I remember readying "somewhere" (can't remember where) that they would compile it for you if you requested a specific platform, but I can't find any "contact us" section or anything ....
Any ideas? Regards, Marshall. |

These forums are staffed by volunteers and assistance is not always immediately available.
Please either wait patiently or go away. If the former, please try giving the search feature a couple tickles. (PMed user a course of action) Mahalo for your kokua and understanding. |

F_Head,
Although I'm sure there are many people out there who appreciate your poor attitude, I am not one of them. If you have nothing useful to add to this post then it is you who should go away. My guess is you are one of those people who fight hard to ensure everybody else uses the forums appropriately yet still add no earthly benefit (see your type all the time on newsgroups). You flame people becuase you can't help them! Anybody else have a clue? JJ. |

Sorry to rub you wrong. Not my intentions.
We get a lot of folks around here that want immediate help from a few volunteers. Check your PMs. Something there may help. |

Thanks Fester, got your PM and I'm hoping that lead helps --I'll post any results I get from that.
Sorry for being defensive ... I do understand how busy you guys are and that you definitely ARE helping people. Cheers, JJ. |

JJ:
Our code control requires us to only build on platforms which we can maintain and actually own internally. Since this is the only request I've seen for your particular platform and you have an alternate platform available, I'm going to have to say this isn't feasable for now. If there's a sudden surge in AIX usage then we can absolutely revisit this request in the future. -t |

Hmmm ...
Thanks Tom,
That's too bad. I have had this box for quite a while now and I've been running into the same difficulty over and over --can't seem to utilize this box fully since most decent apps (yours included) don't support his platform. I'd give anything for those binaries and since I doubt people will start kicking up a stink over AIX looks like I'm out of luck! THanks again! Regards, JJ. |
