it's going to have dynasty warriors on it.. BAD ASS...

i have screenshots:

metroid prime hunter - up to 4 players can wirelessly link up and FPS each other's faces. that link also includes PictoChat, which does instant messaging/drawing.

warioware ds - seems to utilize the touchscreen a lot... man i love me some warioware. that also includes screens from SuperMario 64x4. 4 players can link in wirelessly (mario, wario, luigi, yoshi).

The DS is going to kick ass. Hell, it's even going to be backward compatible with GBA games. That's major +++ for Nintendo on that one alone.

people who have played it at e3 say that the the screenshots dont show how good it really looks on the actual DS...its supposedly comparable to prime when its on the small screen...but i suppose thats at least a small exaggeration

Remember that the GameCube pushes a MUCH higher resolution than the DS does. This doesn't mean that the image quality will be any less, just that the images are a lot smaller. And with the images being smaller, the DS won't have a difficult time pushing high framerates. Also, since the DS is cartridge based, there won't be any lag from having to load data. We'll see just how well the PSP handles load times.

Nintendos newest hardware is cart based and Sony's newest hardware is CD based, why does this seem so familiar and why do I feel as though I can predict the outcome .

on the g4 update they also showed an animal crossing title and a 3d side scroller (viewtiful joeesque) mario game. these games were working in game on the ds and nintendo said that they are shooting for an 04 realease. the psp only had death jr running, but did have some conscept cut scenes from ea (this is what it might look like sorta) that looked really nice. the psp is going to have a hand over with the trendy feature of tiny little movies to go though.

tontie using ds's touch screen would be good

I think everybody should make cartridges again, they're a million times more durable and load faster.

Darn, I can't think of anything to put here.

As much as I'm sure you wish you were psychic, I'm relatively sure that you're not. Like xeno said... Nintendo is prepared this time.

Another thing I love about the DS already: It's got X and Y buttons! Finally! I was hoping that they'd add those on the GBA/GBAsp, but they didn't. They've finally given us the X and Y buttons that the game devs so rightfully deserve.

Ditto. The amount of data that can be stored on cartridges (even really small ones) these days is comparable to any other media. I'd much rather see games put on cartridges because of the two very reasons you stated. They're durable, and there's no load time.

i just hope that developers are smart enough to realize the potential of the touch screen. especially and as simply as a space for alot more buttons. *omit declares simply "buttons are good."

not only is the dual screen good as plainly a good thing but if its used to its best advantage and in alot of games it will take away certain peoples interest in emulating the ds since it just wouldnt be the same, that will probably help nintendo or was what they were intending which makes them smart.

Intriguing point of view. It would be really difficult to faithfully reproduce games for the DS in ROM form, wouldn't it? I didn't even think of that.

WOW! The DS looks awesome! I was about to replace my GBA with an SP, but if this is going to be out before the end of the year, I might as well wait, since it can play GBA games. I hope it will also play old-school Game Boy games, like the original Super Mario Land, because I have a ton of those games and my original Game Boy doesn't work anymore...

And, I don't care if ROMs are free and whatnot. They're not exactly legal (because I'm not going to play a ROM of a game that I own) and it still does not fully replace playing on the origninal system. And yeah, it would be rather difficult to emulate a DS game on a computer. A split-screen thing might work, but it would probably be pretty weird.

You mean the one showing off Mario 64x4? It does actually, yea. And how they got those kind of graphics on that tiny screen like that is amazing.

It does? Schweet! I just thought it was the lighting making it look like wood trim. Ok that settles it. I'm going to have to get at least three of them when they're released.

don’t underestimate the ever so capable programmers who develop the emulators. The ZSNES emulator can emulate the super scope, the lethal enforcers gun, the SNES mouse, and game genie add on, so unorthodox UI are not totally out of bounds. Though it may take more time I have confidence in there capabilities, for example MAME the arcade emulator already emulates arcade games which features two screens displaying separate images.

Did I say it was impossible? I don't believe so. It's too bad those 'ever so capable' programmers aren't using their skills to make better archive utilities, faster encoding applications, and other things like that. But whatever.

Unlike buying CDs, I will gladly buy video games. At least when I buy a video game, I'm relatively sure that the vast majority of the money goes back to the game developers... which is a lot more than I can say about where the money goes that's used to purchase CDs. That money isn't going to the music artists. At least when you buy a game, it's supporting the game developers.

Uh yeah, needless to say, that's not going to happen.

The cartridges are completely different, and it seems most DS games will require the touch-pad second screen.
