Keep WinAmp small, tidy and fast
Currently, almost all programs seam to get bloated by using modern frameworks like Node, .NET, JAVA etc.
So, my machine appears to have become working slower than it even did 20 years ago. Please, keep away from using modern frameworks and stick to using C++ and the Windows API core. Keep WinAmp being a tidy, nifty, unobtrusive, fast tool that can be keyboard navigated. I'm using WinAmp for decades just because of this. It's inconspicuous hiding in my system tray while I'm listening to music when I'm working. And I very much like the keyboard navigation. I hardly need the mouse to operate WinAmp, so, for example, I can quickly scroll back and forth with the keyboard when I'm learning to play a song. And I can easily edit MP3 tags. Great. |

If you paid attention to these forums you would know that there has been no significant development of Winamp for many years.
Don't worry: nobody will mess it up because nobody is developing it anymore. Winamp is as good as it's going to get. DrO, the last real developer, has moved on to WACUP. Windows 10 Home, 64 bit, Winamp 5.666, Bento Skin |
