"Audiophools"?
What do you think of Sony's "low noise" digital memory card?

Hifi companies have a problem. They'd either have to concentrate entirely on things that actually make a difference (pretty much just speakers and headphones these days, unless they want to get into selling diffusers and bass traps), or go full-on voodoo.
Not that a lot they sold in the "good old days" wasn't of highly questionable merit either. There's only a fine line between claiming that a cd player with copper plated chassis and 8 converters sounds audibly better, or that anybody needs huge class a mono power amps (except as space heaters), and outright bullshit such as this. |

The only possible way I can think of this memory card being able to reduce noise would be if the internal noise from "standard" memory cards in sharply inferior portable mp3 players with really bad problems with signal isolation between the ADC's pre-amp and the memory card transfer signals. But even that's an unbelievably far stretch of the imagination. I can't see any MP3 player benefiting from this memory card.

All marketing. Sure, I guess they need to be able to show some tech sheets to defend the name, but beyond that it's just a way to sell an overpriced product IMO.
edit: I guess it is quieter than the humming sound of a cassette deck. Jesus loves you [yes, you] so much, he even died for you so that you will not need to die, but live forever |

But the cassette deck's hum is analog, so it's automatically a good thing.
