winamp 6

I have been a die-hard fan for winamp ever since release of mp3 song in 90s. I will be happy if winamp evolve to winamp 6 soon and wish to see winamp for mobile too.

hehe. As a longtime user of self-hosted WordPress I can vouch for the insanity of releasing new versions just to change things that already work great or to make the developers feel like they are doing important work. Winamp is one of the better pieces of software in terms of releases. Lets keep it that way!

The difference between Winamp 6 and 5.541 is 0.459, duh. Maths!

Advance output plug-in: up/downsample, bit dept changer features.
Playback speed control.
New modern skin.
Native color editor.
Advance directshow filter manager. (adding DS filters for playing media just like KMP).
Video render selector: VMR, EVR, D3D, OGL).
Native DVD, BD support.
Audio, video, frame capture feature.
Native lyrics plug-in: loeslyrics.com plug-in for Winamp.
Native AMR input plug-in.
Native audio processing: vocal removal, channel removal & other.

Do you want more or that's enough?

i think you need to get a grip on reality as most of those would have to be licensed/funded and i doubt you're going to stump up the cash for that so everyone can have it.

"New modern skin. + Native color editor." -> oh let me see... already done not that long ago and erm let me see... this is why YOU CAN INSTALL WHATEVER BLOODY SKINS YOU WANT - wanting a new default skin is just whiney, annoying and causes more hassle than it's worth. http://www.winamp.com/skins is your answer in that respect.

If you would pay for it, that's one thing, if the majority of users would is another thing.

I wouldn't pay any Cent for crap like Leos Lyrics.

You got a new skin in 5.0 and you got a new skin in 5.5, what else are you expecting?

The price of Leos Lyrics plug-in is $00.00, also, Leo has the perfect lyrics archive in the world.
I don't like that Bento skin, I only like that without ML.
You can replace the Bento for modern skin, but without ML.
Also you can release Winamp with 2 choice: Winamp & Winamp+.
Winamp+: all features that I suggested.

Simply uninstall the Library, if you don't like it.

For most of your listed stuff, you have to pay license fees, especially for DVD or BR playback.

A native audio processor is already bundled. If you need a new skin, visit winamp.com/skins.

And the rest of your posting is just stupid, they never will release a special+ version for you, trust me.

You know, this idea is stupid: "Simply uninstall the Library, if you don't like it."
Even a monkey knows this: you have to pay license fees, especially for DVD or BR playback."
It's BD, not BR, Blu-ray Disc, like Digital Versatile Disc, DVD, BD
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu-ray
You just skipping requests just like that.
There is no perfect skins like native Winamp skins with all features that Nullsoft modern skin have.
Also, 1 more thing is stupid, "Penurious Nullsoft"

I don't use Winamp as a universal DS player (God forbids), but I can understand the need for an advanced manager. Although I suspect you're mainly talking about video filters, which I have no interest for since dedicated players like MPC are far more capable in that regard.

I think we are going about the numbering all wrong let's just go back to good ol' Winamp 3. Everybody loved that version right...right!!

"It is, in the end, whatever the Hell I want it to be,
And when I'm through with it, it's gonna blow a hole,
This wide, straight through the worlds own idea of itself.
They're throwing bottles at your house.
Come on, lets go break their arms."

Better Vista support: Nativly showing the correct skin with alt+tab, win+tab.

Better Video support: Playing matroska files without having to install extra plugins.. there actually is video but no sound so might just be an ac3 plugin missing ?

Perhaps a Winamp x64 version.

but I would settle for version 5.55 for this

how about he ability to use UNC path for the library?
Using winamp on my laptop is a pin, because the library is on a shared drive on another machine. Winblows can't seem to figure out how to wait till wireless has connected dvefore giving up on mapped drive, so that doesn;t work well, and Winamp doesn't support path like \\someServer\myMusic\...

This is my #1 wishlist feature for ASAP...

Winamp supports network path names just fine in the library. I use \\ANUBIS\Music with zero problems.

Never worked for me. I tried again and still doesn't work: I can enter a path to another server, but when I refresh the library only one or two albums (out of about 300) actually show up properly.

Try mapping the network path to a drive letter, then use it as a HDD partition:

net use X: \\computer\path

Yeah, it's fugly. I got to connect manually before I use winamp. the automatic reconnect built in windows doesn't seem to work well with wireless, it's not smart enough to wait until you have acquired the network.
