I visited PA to see the Penn State vs. Illinois football game. Good seats, amazing performance by Penn State, and a good bed n' breakfast for two nights.

On the trip, in Morgantown, WV it was $2.099 per US Gallon, and in State College, PA, it was $2.379.

The difference is partly due to the fact that vehicle ownership is taxed based on value every year in WV, but not in PA.

£1.03 = $1.59 per litre x 4.54 = $ 7.21/per gallon.

Isn't a gallon is 3.78541 liter? So that'd be $6.02, right?
Same price as here, locally at least. You'll pay $6.56 on the highways

Paid $1.879 this morning in Richmond, VA, USA. I wish I could store a few thousand gallons.

Keep in mind the difference between different types of gallons. US gallons are smaller than Imperial gallons. Some people might be converting to one type of gallon or another.

I paid $2.059/US gallon today in Morgantown, WV.

It's under $2.00 in Winchester, VA now. It's always more expensive over the state line (and mountain ridge) in WV.
I still remember filling up in Bedford, VA on the way to college in 1998 for $0.80/gallon.

Yeah, that's the case with capitan3's post.

£1.03 per liter = $7.20 per UK gallon = $5.999 per US gallon.

It's un-American for me to say this, but I'd be willing to convert to the metric system if people would be willing to go with the English language.

The metric system is more practical.

For me, I'd gladly give up the way we write numbers for the English system.
For instance, twenty-one would be one-and-twenty in Dutch. If you're summing up large amounts of numbers on the phone, it can be highly annoying.
I do prefer the way we write down dates though; we go from smallest to biggest (DMY) instead of the irregular MDY

I agree. In "official" places, computers and people often will write in order, either DMY or YMD. I'd like it either way, so long as it were the same person-to-person.

Still $2.059 US Dollars per US gallon. This has been the lowest stretch in a long time. We're pretty lucky right now.

About $0.54 USD/Liter
About .36 British Pound/Liter

The way I look at dates. Maximum of 12 months in a year. Maximum of 31 days in a month. Thousands of years available.

So month is smallest, followed by day, then year.

Filled my entire tank for 25 bucks today. Happiest I've been in years.
$2.14/gal.
Very hard to get used to as we're typically higher due to our locale and being a tourist driven economy.

I have to say that's one way of rationalising MDY that I'd never expected to hear/read/etc.

My logic for DMY/YMD is that it's the nth day of the nth month of the nth year, where "of the" can be replaced by a divide symbol, or "/".

It's getting quite a bit cheaper here, too, as of late. It's at about $1.20 AUD/L aka $6.22 USD/gal.

They say we might even get down to the crazy cheap level of $1.00/L aka $5.18/gal!

Mutters about lucky US bastards, before remembering all the downsides to living Stateside… Never mind!

In the interest of sharing (which I'm led to believe "is caring"), I'm really liking the ability to track fuel purchases using my new Caltex StarCard debit cards. One for each of myself, ShyShy and Shy Jr., and all the details are available online, exportable to Excel.

We also save $0.04 per litre when using these branded cards, which is fine by us, since three of the four servos nearest our home are Caltex servos, and there are also Caltex servos dotted at not-very-many-kilometre intervals between home and the big smoke of Brisvegas.

My level of excitement/joy spurned by this endeavour is perhaps more than would be considered "normal".

Down to $1.799/gal locally now. Filled up two or so weeks ago using reward points. Got nearly a full tank for a hair under $20. Came out to $1.19/gal.
