Shoutcast server and licensing

I want to start streaming my station on a shoutcast server. Where is a good place to buy stream hosting. The only one I know of is stream101.com. Is there any where else you recommend I go?

Also, How does the licensing work for a shoutcast server? Will have be able to have a link directly from my website to have a listener listen to my shoutcast stream?

also....when i previewed this post my signature showed....where is it?

1) not the place to look for SC server host. You need to check out http://www.broadcastingworld.net/reviews/hosts/
I have talked to some staff at stream101 and they know their stuff. But window shop, and know that its like a car, your going to get what you pay for.

2) Licensing varies depending on your location/listener location. If you are an american broadcaster starting out, the best way to go is through a JLA.

check out sites like:
www.loudcity.com
www.SWCast.com
www.live365.com
if your an American broadcaster.

Note that if you go with a service like loudcity or SWCast, the fees are flat fees, you don't need to track royaltys, their servers do it for you.

But as a legit broadcaster in the US, you need to follow the rules of the DMCA.

if you are a UK broadcaster?

Sig probably got removed by staff maybe? Maybe the image was too big or violated the terms of service?

Try this as well, http://www.radiotoolbox.com/hosts As far as licensing, a few hosts will provide royalty reports, based on which you will be able to pay your own fees. ServerRoom includes royalty reports with all SHOUTcast accounts.
