window position

Hey, ive somehow lost the main window of the top of my desktop, and since winamp3 restores window position every time, I can't get it back (its completely gone).

Can someone tell me where winamp stores its window size/position info so i can change it back without uninstall and reinstall?

Is that even editable? I looked quickly in the registry but nothing caught my eye.

Thanks,
Cdawzrd

Delete winamp.ini and studio.xnf from the Winamp directory. Or if you like you can open them up and try to find the right values to change

studio.xnf stores all size/position data for modern skins,
so this should be the only file you need to edit/delete.

Alternatively, change desktop to a higher resolution,
grab the main window to the middle of the screen,
then change res back.

nb. If you delete winamp.ini
all the default settings will be restored in:
Winamp -> Prefs (Ctrl+P)
Classic skin size/positions are also stored in winamp.ini

I'm running Windows 7 and Winamp 5.58. I lost my Lyrics Plugin window somewhere outside the visible screen and couldn't get it back. Not even with reinstalling the plugin.

BUT by just deleting studio.xnf I recovered the lost plugin window back to the visible area of the screen Thank you for this tip!

On Windows 7 the file is located in the folder C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Winamp

After swapping my two monitors around, so the primary is now on the left, I lost Winamp completely. No amount of using the Move window menu item brought it back into view, which really threw me. I uninstalled and re-installed - without deleting preferences - to no avail.

Thank you to the tips above. Deleting studio.xnf fixed it. In XP it is in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Winamp
