Can winamp save ratings inside the mp3 file instead of a local database?

Apologies if this is an unnecessary thread, but when i did a forum search i got a 136 reply discussion from 2006. I dont want this to be an argument on why I would want to-- I just need to know if I can do this. And if not, are there any workarounds?

I remember it was possible to do this on my older computer which had winamp, but I am unsure if this was from an extra plugin I may have installed or a setting I may have changed.

[EDIT] It appears It was a simple option under prefrences > media library > advanced library prefrences > save rating to file.
