Hissing

Please, in plain English, what can a person do to get rid of the hissing that is quite apparent in Winamp3. It's obviously a problem because I've seen several posts on the subject.

Remember, I'm a user, not a programmer. Straight-forward, step-by-step ENGLISH would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for an otherwise wonderful product.

First, download and install this

Then, if you still have this, tell which soundcard do you have.
If you have an Audigy , download newer drivers. (It may help or may turn it worse)

I have LIVE! and Software Mixing only created hissing on standard drivers
(but not in WinXP) (DX8.1)

(Not that I use that WinME anymore...)

Hissing Problem Solved!

Thank you, Bedeox, for the download info. It worked! Now the sound is clear as a bell. I hope others who are having the same problem will find that link.

Have a great weekend everybody!
