Beta 2.5 weirzbowski bitch list

dunno if we should start one seems its only a .5 difference but here we go anyway.

- truetype fonts still completely see through!
- no multiple os background support yet!

- Color Control changes make scripts lose bitmaps
- extern double SystemObject.pow(double value);
//should take two variables and raise one to the power of the other.
- The remove script warning appears below other windows when Winamp3 is in "Always On Top" mode.

Gonzotek...

I think the reason that pow thing wasn't fixed is because I think that this is pretty much for bug fixes..not new API features... looking at the 2.5 SDK... I don't see anything new. Look to Beta 3 for more features in the API.

pow wasn't fixed because 2.5 is for bug fixes? I'm confused. It's already in std.mi and doesn't work. Then again, I just looked up the thread it came up in, and Francis said it'd be in beta3 ( http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....0&pagenumber=2 ), not 2.5.

That was my point... new features are probably going to Beta 3...

But it's a bug, not a feature. Francis called it as much in that message. And I guess I am resigned to waiting for beta3

The double-clicking the playlist titlebar now winshades it instead of making it fill the screen. Would that be a bug-fix or a feature?

- It seems that changing preferences in the config window crashes skins that don't use the default studio.xml.[edit]Skins that don't use studio.xml should be changed so that they use it. Not a Winamp3 bug, but a skin bug that must be fixed by skinners (or enterprising users) [/edit]

on Beta 2.5 almost all the plug-in's (Archive Reader, MDI Player, etc.) that I have crash WA3 Beta 2.5 when you go into config it says

Program Error
Studio.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created.

it should be regularly accepted that plugins written for beta two will be broken for 2.5

2.5 isn't 100% compatible with beta 2.

Definately a feature and one that I use alot. Try it in WinAmp 2.x, behaves the same way.

I know...I was trying to make a point about something rather pointless. I think we both decided to let it drop (I did anyway).

Now I've noticed something else about 2.5 - None of the windows maxmize now. I like the winshade more than the maximize, when double-clicking the titlebar, but I'd still like to be able to maximize via clicking *something*, rather then dragging the window larger.

I believe I know enough to script that into my skins now, but it'd be nice to have on the default.

This is probably slightly off topic (sorry), but, well..
First off, being fairly new here, I don;t know much about SDK's, all these things, because.. I've had nobody to show me.
And I also don't know how most of these releases work, that is to say, is this 2.5 not being published on the site? I'm unnacustomed to the way things are run around here, is what I'm trying to say.
Excuse my incoherency.

Damn all you knowledgeable people!

If I have one complaint, it's that the Winamp 2.x Plug-in Manager makes Winamp3 crash, I'll load up a plug-in, then as soon as I right click, or something, it'll crash. Or maybe it's the plug-in thingo that is crashing, and not Winamp3. Well, whatever

A mod said they weren't releasing it to the site. And the information on the site is a bout beta 2(as of last evening). But they links actually go to 2.5 . Just because we're knowledgable, doesn't mean we know anything (heh).

I haven't done extensive testing with Beta 2.5... however I have heard from other sources that most plugins are broken with Beta 2.5...

I'm not planning on releasing anything new until Beta 3... sorry. Besides, there is no reason to right click anywhere in the Plugin Manager cause it doesn't do anything.

Peter's plugins have all been updated to work with beta 2.5.

Unfortunately, the long play bug seems to be back again, don't know why.... it crashed 3 times, each time after I restarted WA3 beta2.5 again....

why would it be beta3 if everything worked? I'd call it RC1.
