Talking WOTAmp - The return

After a somewhat long time away, I come back with a new version of "Wheel of Time Amp", because the old one was a wee bit to big. and a few things wasn't quite right. This new version I've drawn somewhat differently.

The graphics are quite obviusly at an early stage but I'd still like some feedback. I'd also be very happy if someone could script and put this baby together for me since I dont have that much time.

I'd also like you'r opinion. should I keep the white part as a "separable part with possibly the VIS in it ?. or shoudl I put the contorls in there and have is as a permanent part of the skin.

Alternatively I can some simple controls on the black part, and have the white part as a multi toggleable thing (better get a good scripter for this) where you can have the VIS(AVS) or a extended cotnrol set or the equalizer or any of the other tools. but have it as you toggle through the different states (so they won't be all "showable" at the same time", don't think I can get the playlist in there though

Too big? then why not put a resizer on it and make sure your fonts are large enough, besides I liked the old colors.

For those who missed it:

I am sure that others would agree, the old version is your best bet.

Speaking only for myself, I think it should be a full skin in that form. I like it.

Your remaking it?

Are you trying to tell us that you have a lot of time on your hands or that you lost the old *.psd

In the last thread you were scripting this thing.

I'd tell you to lose the volume wheel, I always thought it was ugly as hell and just didn't fit. Also I think you should make a seperate gamma group for those background colors so we can get the orange, white or whatever, since I think that orange was supper sexy

Of course. I also liked the orange wich was one of the problems witht he old one. the "bad" glass shading was part of the Blue background color.

I'm alos planning on having a gamma group for the White flame, so you can select your "ajah" for those that read/have read WOT

I'mjust hopign I can squeeze all the controll in there If not I'll just have to find soemwhere else for the others

Talking

Well I keep posting updates and noone cares, don't I

It's getting close to putting this in the PSD2WAL or what the plugin was called soon now

I'll just have to figure out what to put in the flame, probably the Equalizer, and sometime in the future I'll have it toggleable so you can toggle it betweent he Equalizer and AVS or something.

Now then I'm getting close to something usable. I'll put the Vis in the area above the song title (btw can I split the Song info like this ? have the khz below the others ?)

Though I'mnto quite sure what to put in the large openish area above the Equalizer. but Maye I'll just leave it like that so and have just the AVS use the whole area.

As for that I just cam up with an idea, would it be possible to have the AVS in that area. and that hit the Equaliser button. and then have those Equalizer bars be overlaid on top of the AVS when it's toggled on ?

Anyway I'll be needing someone to script this for me soon. who wants the fame and glory ?

Gonzotek made a song info slitter, a good example is in Winamp OS 1.55 or Gell Cap ( in my sig). If you want you could input you name/sig for when no song is playing like I did.

pretty easy to use, all the source code/maki is use as is.

Here is the seek.m and seek.maki from Rhino trip's site: http://www.stefanweb.com/skins/

They are use as is if you make an animated seek with various frames. The instructions are easy to follow.

I need a seek script that fades between two pictures based on a gradient map. or somethign liek that

anyway I'm tired, here's my script skin so far for the brave individuals who dare to try it out. PReferences don't work yet for some reason, probably need to make graphics for it or somehting.. (it's 5:30 in the mornign...), Repeat don't seem to work, dunno if Crossfade works but open works, and the VIS colors are ripped of from Gel Amp, haven't figured out he color band thingies yet
and man am I getting tired.. I'll gladly accept you help Gonzo, so I hope you read this, all the gfx files are in the wal, and they're defined in the elements file. (I'll mail you tomorrow if you don't read htis, too tired now )

oh yeah if anyone's got any nice ideas for how I can fake a large area for the buttons in the control panel.. sinze aiming for the text is annoying

I'm a bit tired too, so I'll be looking at it tomorrow. Mail me anyway, and when I see what's there if there's anything special I have to to say, I'll be able to get a hold of you. Sounds like you've got everything I/you need in the wal, though.

Here's a new and much more usabele version than the last, while I wait for soem feedback from Gonzo on the Seekbar and if he can script my fanzy new Equalizer as showed in the attached image

the skin is at the same place as last
http://home.enter.vg/kkvilvan/WOTAmp2.wal

I got the graphics for the equalizer all ready to export if he says he can do them so. then I'll just need some more help stuffing the AVS inside the large display with the Equalizer (I'll probably but the thigner right above the equalizer, and have the equalizer button toggle between havign the thinger+EQ and the AVS, or if possibel have the EQ button turn on and off the thinger and EQ as an overlay over the AVS.)

are those buttons on the right and the eq finished? i hope not as it looks like you've rushed them otherwise. it would be a shame to spoil what is a very good idea (and good base graphics) with some crap looking buttons and eq.

The circularish EQ graphics are finished, and it will work like the volume button, hopefully, btu with a darked background in the "inactive" area. and I'll add a lighter background to the buttons for the right hand buttons to get a proper surface on them.
otherwise they're pretty much done yet.

it would be cool if you could have some sort of changing content there in that lower section. it could animate. swing out and back and then have new content on it. i dont know what the content would be but it would be cool.

Wee

Well the screenshots of this skin so far do not do it justice. But I'd really love you if you could make a version that didn't have the transparency on the blue background, or have an option to turn it off somehow because it's killing my AMD 1.33 GHz(CPU Usage averaging 75 for studio.exe). Wee, my construtive critacism ..

It looks really cool.. but, a few suggestion: (Constructive, I hope)

1. The buttons on the right really need some work, as mentioned before.

2. Wouldn't it be cool if you could switch the EQ for the AVS? I mean, you wouldn't want to look at the EQ all the time if you could also have the AVS there... That'd be cool.

That's it for now.

Wanna see my Winamp 3?
