MP4: audio only

(Apologies if this has been asked and answered already; I did a search on "MP4" in the appropriate fora, but nothing was found)

Using Video Downloadhelper 5.4.2 under XPSP3, I downloaded a copy of the traditional song "Anke van Tharaw" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jxIO99ve4c).

I get the audio fine, but no video. This was true using 5.666 cut 3512 as well.

I don't have another player to verify file goodness, since I can't seem to figure out how to get past MediaPlayer's "helpfulness" and load the file.

Are others having problems with MP4s, or is it unique to me?

I downloaded the video using Video Downloadhelper 5.4.2 from that link and the MP4 file plays video and audio in my Winamp.

FYI: ver 5.666 build 3516 (patched for in_mp3.dll and gen_jumpex.dll) is the best and recommended build.

I apologise, I should have confirmed that I'm using "fully-patched" 3516, newly installed after my trying to get 3512 to play MP4 didn't provide any joy.

3516 claims to already support MP4, but apparently it don't But thanks to your pointer, I got the extra bits installed and now it works fine, so thanks!

just fyi, VLC is a good app for testing files that don't work in winamp.

also, mp4 can be a number of different codecs, so its just a matter of native ones to winamp or not, (it seems yours was not). [if i'm wrong, someone please correct me]
