Password Is Always Invalid

Cannot stream because on VirtualDJ it always says "BROADCAST ERROR. SERVER ANSWERED: Invalid Password" when I try to use SHOUTcast for broadcasting.

I've already unexpectedly spent nearly an hour trying to figure this out and I followed all directions (as stated below on SHOUTcast) precisely.

How do I fix this please?

Thanks.

STEP 1 : Get your station up and running in a few minutes.

In your automation software or dedicated encoder, select "SHOUTcast" (version 2, if available).

Your streaming server URL is "master.shoutcast.com".

Your port is "8000".

Your Stream ID is "906478".

Your stream password is your RMO password.

Got password to work, but now whenever I hit "Broadcast" it just knocks my broadcasting software away and completely closes the program I'm using to DJ. Not sure what more to do.

you may have anti-virus/anti-malware preventing your dj app from streaming outbound. what os are you running? a firewall may also be in play there.

Hi

How did you resolve the "Password is always invalid" issue?
I'm new to Shoutcast and have VDJ 8 Pro.

I'm always getting the error "Server answered: Invalid password".

Your streaming server URL is "master.shoutcast.com".
Your port is "8000".
Your Stream ID is "911429".
Your stream password is your RMO password.

I've since reset my stream password to a new (known) value and added the :#911429 at the end.

Still the same "invalid password" error.

Any ideas please?

Andy

Did you tried another streaming-client, only to close out this issue is based on VDJ?

Solve the validation problem

fill up the server address, port and stream id with the info provided when you register

set dj/user id = <user id>
set password = <password>:#<stream id>
click connect using: = v1.x mode (legacy servers)

click connect button

the clock starts ticking when you are connected above the disconnect button

Just a few questions here that I desperately need answered:

WHERE do these ID numbers come from? (and how do I find out mine?)
What IS the actual Server Address?
WHICH of the THREE PASSWORDS that I was asked for do I use?
(there was one for logging into the shoutcast website, an ADMINPASSWORD and yet a THIRD one that is mentioned in the *.conf file "password=thispassword"

I am trying to get away from an online server. To run that, all I need to have is the
server ip: server.org
port: 80
password: (this one can obviously be problematic here)
Oh, and also the web address

In SAM you would select the Shoutcast server for encoder, make sure to select v2 and enter the stream password and your stream ID 910909 (it will default to 0 or 1 I forget).

How did you get the Administration password working?

on my conf I have (I write fake data)
adminpassword=mypasswordadmin
password=streamingpwd
userid=MyID

But when I click on "Server Login" and I give
Username: MyID
Password: mypasswordadmin

it returns always a fault and I got: Unauthorized

I did find ... the username is ALWAYS "Admin" ... the userid is useless ... then the password is the adminpassword.
