"Q" Keyboard shortcut not working on 5.8

I always add all my music in my library and set my winamp to play as random. One of my favorite shortcuts is the "Q" which enqueues a highlighted song in the playlist so the song plays right after what's currently playing. Successive entries will be marked as (1) (2) (3)... etc.

This feature is not available in 5.8

Was the shortcut removed or changed? I'm a bit bummed its not working. I would really appreciate it if someone could help clear things up.

      -SOLVED-

Dug some more info. Its called JTFE and its a plugin that was removed from 5.8 if you want the feature back just go to https://winampplugins.co.uk/jtfe.html download the plugin and install.

        the website cleary says.

Note: This release only works with Winamp 5.666 Build 3516
NO SUPPORT IS PROVIDED FOR ATTEMPTS TO USE THIS UNDER v5.8 BETA OR NEWER

so it's on your own risk if you use this.

Oh I did not miss that detail and I am sure the rest of the users clicking on that link would be able to read the fine print prior to download. But the thing is, it works on 5.8, "support" might not be there anymore but this will do for now till devs can make a suitable replacement. Also users that updated from the previous build will not experience the issue since old plugins are not removed. It just happened that I installed 5.8 right after a fresh reformat of my PC and I was caught off-guard when my "Q" shortcut didn't do anything.

            Thank you nikitaluger!
Had the same problem. What's up with features like this being removed? This is why I tend to not update as long as things are still working...

But yeah, warnings be damned, the plugin works perfectly.

I think some clarification is needed here...

              1. Jtfe is not included in 5.8, when Winamp is installed fresh.
              2. This was 100% DrO's decision as he owns that bit of code (jtfe)
              3. Jtfe is however left in place when a user upgrades from an existing Winamp install to 5.8

I think most users should install 5.666 first, then install 5.8 for several reasons, one being if they want jtfe. I documented how I specifically updated in another thread.

It's too bad that this is not included in 5.8, as this has such a big chunk of functionality that is now missing. I hope they can re-include it into future releases.

                    Indeed, but it's inconvenient.

                      Dear @nikitaluger,

I have been using Winamp for ages. A few months ago I had to reinstall it, and ended up losing Q shortcut to queue a song that I want to my list -as I always use Shuffle mode.

I did some search on the Net and came across your solution: It worked!

Hence, I created an account just to thank you for your help:

                      Thanks a lot!

Can confirm it still works on 5.9.1, no downgrade needed, just drop the plugin files in the Plugins dir and restart Winamp.
