cant get into my profile

signed in forums, went to user control panel --> your profile --> edit your details and I get the following message: "pintree3, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:" bla bla bla. How could this be? if I dont have permission to get into my own profile then who does? All I want to do is change my password
