New Skin

Because I get bored easily, I'm starting a new skin. I dont have a name yet, but its partly inspired by a cool sort of mini-hovercraft in an x-men comic I read. Let me know what you think.

Thanks, I've been messing with the idea on paper for a while, but only started laying it out for real about a week ago. This is definitely the most ambitious skin I've ever tried, and I know getting some of it to actually work is going to be a pain, but I like the challenge.

I'm not going to post it, cause its ugly, but I had to push the screen all the way through on the bottom to fit in the the kbps and khz just like flatmatt said. Does anyone have any better idea than that? Please..

Make that area transparent?
Make little oval surrounds around the kbps and khz, so that they fit in?

I tried ovals and they look really bad because they're not centered, but I never thought about transparency. Thanks, J_Bloggs. I have a decent solution now, but anything else would be better. I'll post it soon.

You don't like something like this? I think it looks alright.

Very nice btw. I would never have thought of a skin with this particular format (I guess that's a good word for it).

looks liek shit, but it gets the idea across. You will have to make the orb on the bottom smaller though, as it still protrudes into the kbz / kbps area, but I think that will not be hard.

here ya go.

fugly idea for pos bar. You can make it flow. I can't

my only other real suggestion would be for you to skin this as you want, and have someone code it for v5 and have it run as a modern skin

Wow, thanks for the response guys, I'm very impressed. FooMonkey; I messed around with that idea, even making all kinds of shadows and highlights to try and integrate it, but I think I am going back to an idea I had a few days ago.
dlinkwit27; I will definitely be using a posbar like that, and I am going to try your idea for having it rounded. I dont want to make it a v5 skin, cause that would be admitting defeat, but maybe.
Once again, thanks for your ideas

It's still really cool and you better finish it...XD But, I guess I don't get why some skins have perfectly good antialiased curves in places, and then have random jagged pixelly curves in other places. Even if they're pretty small, like here, they tend to be noticable...pixel stuff is fun on it's own, but in my opinion it doesn't look so good when you mix little bits of it with nicely antialiased stuff. You might be planning to fix those, I dunno, and it's not like that's a huge part of the skin...but I've seen a lot of otherwise amazing skins have that and it sorta bugs me. That's all.

xenosomething; I know! I just cant decide what will look right. I've been playing with it, but no.
aestas; The main reasons some of it has jaggies are because a) I'm lazy and tend to do things in a hurry and b) because I did a bit of modifying to some shapes so they would look right. I'm gonna fix that soon.
Okay, I did more work in between studying, but cant decide if I like it. Losing my mind during finals and all...

The eq bars are cool!
But I personally think that there is too much yellow on the top side, you should put some yellow parts on the eq/pl as well, so that it looks more balanced.

Changed the eq a bit and messed with the titlebar, cbuttons and shuf/rep. I'm really stuck and starting to want to change everything on this skin cause I've seen it so many times . Done a bit of work, but mostly just changing it back to the way it was before the last time I changed it. What do you guys think?

I'm moving to france for three months next week, so I'm trying to get this thing done before I leave. I think it's starting to come together... slowly. Oh, so slowly.

Doing it by hand. I dont have Illustrator. The pl is just roughly sketched in right now, if that's why you're asking, just to give the general idea.
