Rubbish, at best that's an optical illusion at worst it's a bit of photoshop trickery, I'd like to see them rotate the camera around that a full 360 degrees and prove that all the ends meet.

Phooey.

its entirely possible to make. one step left of right, however, will reveal that it doesn't join up...

Obvious photoshop trickery. See that shadow to the south-west of the vertical piece? Plus, you can see the bit where it was 'joined' just to the left of the top.

I think I'm with hgnis on this one.

Thoes actually can be built, though as said: they arent connected. This looks to be a real one..

I can see two shadows for each piece of wood, suggesting light source from two directions. I marked thoes as two white circles with arrows.

You may have to zoom in to see the dark yellow, but:

It looks as if the blue wood is laying flat on the floor (horizontal), with the red wood sitting perpendicular (verticle) to it. Attached to the top of the red wood is the yellow (horizontal, but at a 90° rotation from the blue wood). the opposite end of the yellow, the wood is cut at a 60° angle. The shadow from the yellow wood (makred with dark yello) seems to confim the two light source, because if it was above the ground, the shadow is where it shoul dbe from the 2nd light source.

All that is needed then, is the camera placed on a tripod and slowly moved into the right possition to make it look as if they're all lined up.

But what would the shadows from an impossible triangle look like? It’s obviously a fake, but I’m just saying…

An impossable triangle would not have shadows, because it is impossable to make.

The picutre isnt an ACTUAL impossable triangle, it is three pieces of wood, constructed in a manner, and taken at a specific angle that it LOOKS to be one.

i think booble-boobs SSJ4 Gogitta has it bang on.
it's not photoshop or any such j-peggery.

the photo was taken from a point of view that makes the pieces appear to be joined in a full circ . . . uh, triangle with 3 mating joints when there are only 2 mating joints.

placing the piece along the seam in the floor really helps the eye to suggest certain perceptions to the brain (look up "U.S. Government").

and pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!!!

Whoa! You see it too?!

once upon a time there was a man named "M.C. Escher"

Try searching for him on google, and you might be surprised!

Actually, look at the middle "shadow", it's actually suggesting that the 3rd piece of wood would come from inside the angle formed from the first two. Even with 2 light sources, that shadow is impossible.
