SC Transcoder keeps shutting down

Hey guys,

My SC Transcoder runs great with one problem. It keeps shutting itself down or somthing else may be terminating it. the last thing I saw for its logs is..

<06/01/03@01:00:06> [MAIN] Title Updated
<06/01/03@01:38:51> [TRANSCast] DNAS/posix v0.400-LAME (Mar 4 2003) starting up...
<06/01/03@01:38:51> [MAIN] PID: 27845

So I assume either its crashing or another process is turning it down? This happens it seems every 24+ hours or so. Never really had this issue before so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

Thanks in advanced.

I'm executing it through a shell account on my box.

What do you mean by "an particular cron jobs running at the moment is shuts down." Could you please rephrase that because that made very little sense to me. Scratch that, it made NO sense to me.

Thanks for replying.

I got the same problem too. The only solution now is to reload it every couple days just be safe for your station being shutting without knowing. I never get it working for more than a week.

I am stumped - sc_trans will randomly stop encoding, but when I start it again it fires right up...?

Yea, I tried running it at root, and a regular shell user. Both still shut down every few days to every 7 days. I'm running RedHat Linux 8.0. Hope to see this solved soon. Also, where can I make requests for future relases features?

I just wonder..is there a way to do a cron job for it to restart automaticly every few day. Anybody know how to do it please post it here. That would help eliminate the problem for now while waiting for the next release. Hopefully it will be fixed.
