Pot smoking mother drives off with baby on car roof
(Reuters) - A marijuana-smoking woman was arrested on Saturday in Phoenix after she accidentally drove away with her five-week-old son in a child safety seat on the roof of her vehicle, police said.

Well... ...at least the kid was in one of them dang-fangled safety seats...
![]() And potheads will adamanty claim that pot is the "safe drug" as if it's safer than "the legal drug 'alcohol'." Safer for who? |

Smokers and drinkers will point out that this has also happened with perfectly sober, but highly distracted, people.
It happens more often than you would think. At malls and food markets, when people load up the car and forget the kid (especially on Super Sales days). Surprisingly, it happens a lot when multiple adults are present, each thought one the others put the kid in the vehicle. Thank God, in most cases, the kid survives without a scratch. I tore down a camp space and left my dog tied to a tree. Drove away. Remembered about an hour later.
Wasn't weed. Just tired. We all try to kill our kids. It's a miracle it doesn't work most of the time. Global Movies and TV God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to hide the bodies of people who pissed me off. |

There is stoned and then there is stupid. I don't think you could blame pot for this one, except... golly... maybe we shouldn't be cruising around in the park getting stoned and stupid with our 5 week old kid along.
Weed didn't start the whole irresponsibility thing. I think weed is a far better drug than alcohol. If people must do a drug. It should be weed. It is more easily dismissed than alcohol, less addictive, less potent, and less of a depressant. Alcohol would really be a nice thing to un-invent. This drinking and drugging stuff. It just isn't any good. No damn good at all. But booze. It's really bad shit. Anybody looking at it objectively would have to say fuck that's screwed up. It's not even a good drug. The side effects are nasty. The psychological effect isn't very predicable except as a general depressant. What was that old song. I need a new drug... one that does what it should... yeah that's a good point, there's a difference in being stoned and having a brainfart.
i've left shit on top of the car and forgot about it long before i ever considered driving and before i even knew what pot was at any rate. I hate everyone, so you don't have to.

I wouldn't have been cruising around drinking beer in the park and getting high with my kid along in the first place. I wouldn't even transport a 5 week old baby unnecessarily.
So it was stupid before it was stoned. Global Movies and TV God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to hide the bodies of people who pissed me off. |
