can we get the skins directory cleaned

its pretty sad that there are a number of winamp skins on the site which will crash winamp 5.02 and higher.

i know that winamp got a new thing which broke many old skins (these are .wal files i am talking about)

but please could we have them either labeled as incompatible, or removed temporarily.

whats the point of having skins which are not suported by the software you are promoting. sure they would be great at wasabi's website or somthing because i presume they still work on that, but here nope.

namely its this skin that i want removed, i am still stuck on 5.01 because of it. (well i actually use it personally and will only use this skin unless a better XP one comes out. so updating the skin would be nicer.)

actually they don't because they don't have the media libary

unfortunatly i have tried that already.

it still doesn't make sense to me that they would keep a broken skin in their database.

p.s. is it possible to copy one of the files from 5.01 over to the 5.03 directory and basicly return the functionality of the skin???

the moden skin DLL file i would presume it would be

That looks like the good old Color-Themes bug.

Try running color-presets.xml through frontpage. If you don't have frontpage (I don't either) you could ask StAnGeR04, he fixed the modern skin themes pack that way.

What StAnGeR04 did was send the xml through frontpage's xml validation.

The problem is that notepad/wordpad/word don't show any difference between broken and fixed xml.

You could only rewrite the whole file by hand.

And, on second thought, it might well be caused by any xml in the skin.
