Vista Problems

Hi,

I recently did a clean install to a German Vista Home Premium. Since this event, Winamp is quite instable. I have a crash quite often. It's usually something like that:
code:
Problemsignatur:
Problemereignisname: APPCRASH
Anwendungsname: winamp.exe
Anwendungsversion: 5.3.5.1305
Anwendungszeitstempel: 4648e17d
Fehlermodulname: ntdll.dll
Fehlermodulversion: 6.0.6000.16386
Fehlermodulzeitstempel: 4549bdc9
Ausnahmecode: c0000005
Ausnahmeoffset: 00062086
Betriebsystemversion: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3
Gebietsschema-ID: 1031
Zusatzinformation 1: 93e7
Zusatzinformation 2: e5c5848a537e479b49aeb06539ab262d
Zusatzinformation 3: 51cf
Zusatzinformation 4: 0d448cf76cde3f622886745af1d32ecf

The additional information 1-4 ("Zusatzinformation") is always different but everything else from this crashlog stays the same.
It occurs sometimes just because of skipping a track or adding some tracks to the playlist; trying 5 times to add an album to an empty playlist will cause 3 crashes.

Actually, I did have another crash when loading an album, it occurred when gathering each track's length. I accidentally did not save this log but the error module name was not "ntdll.dll" but "px.dll_unloaded".

I'm listening through DirectSound-Plugin using default settings, but there are no differences to the Wave-out Plugin. Music-files are usual mp3-files with stereo-encoding.
My soundcard is Creative's SoundBlaster Live! Value using the 2003's driver for XP (the Vista one via Windows Update sounds real stupid, sound is like over-powering an amplifier). I'm afraid, Winamp is the only application with this issue (actually, no other application has similar problems to my knowledge).

Rest of the system is the following:
- Asus A8N32-SLI
- Opteron 165 (2x 1.8 GHz)
- 2 GiB RAM
- GeForce 7900GT
- SoundBlaster Live! Value
- Hauppauge! HVR-1300 TV-Card
- Windows Vista Home Premium (German)
- Winamp 5.35 (no 3rd party plugins, classic skin)

Hope you'll find a solution soon, I've been using Winamp for 8 years now and it is still the best media player on earth to me.

Best regards,
rellek
