One Hour Photo.

RoH (rockouthippie) had recommended it to me years ago, and for some reason I never got around to seeing it. I think it was because my wife never wanted to see it. It's rare that I have time to see a movie at all, and exponentially more rare that I get an opportunity to see a movie when my wife isn't around.

RoH was right. Very well done by the writers and Robin Williams did a supurb job of acting. This role is very different from anything I have seen from Robin Williams, but he's so good at getting into the part and so talented at acting, you see the character perfectly and lose concept that it's being acted out by someone who seems to have a completely different personality elsewhere.

It's not a movie for everyone, and my wife is right to stay away from it. She likely wouldn't like it.

The trailers, clips, and descriptions don't do it justice at all. It needs to be seen as a movie before someone can get an idea of what it really is.

It is a very engaging story that gets you into the mind of someone in a uniquely difficult and dilemma-type situation, and helps one to understand what it might be like to go through the process of developing a mental illness and/or mental/emotional breakdown.

There was a scene that was meant to startle; it might have been better left out, because it just didn't seem to fit. Those that have seen the film will remember Spoiler: the scene with the bloody eyes and the spitting of blood. That scene could have been left out and the movie would still have the same artistic value without needing the silly and cheap horror movie startling effect, and it wasn't too startling to a lazy dude who has watched too many movies that are more geared for that.

Other than that, the movie is very thought provoking, sometimes disturbing, but intensely engaging.

Very well done, and thank you RoH for recommending it, wherever you are.

Flight.

I liked it a lot and recommend it. It's a movie that I can't really describe without spoiling it. I would predict that it would be liked by most audiences that can watch a 'rated R' film.

Watched it when it first came out... definitely not what I expected.

Last movie I saw was About Time. I wouldn't call it a total chick flick but that's kind of what it is. But one I actually enjoyed and would recommend if you want a nice touching movie.

The Family

Worth the time to watch. It's a bit exciting, a bit funny, and overall good.

Let's be Cops

Silliness, but quite entertainingly funny.

Homefront

Not bad; my wife really liked it, and I thought it was ok.

Parker

Same description as Homefront. I think my wife has a crush on Statham.

I would recommend all four. None were wastes of time. If I could only watch one of them, I would choose The Family.

Blue Ruin

Worth the watch, but only if you can handle a disturbing plot and short graphic gory scenes. The thing I like most about this, is that it's believable. No superhuman action hero bullshit. It's a revenge story that doesn't suck like all the other revenge flicks.

What was the last movie you saw

Dead Poets Society -- but it may have more to do with what happened in my life when I saw the movie as opposed to the movie itself. Although I still think it was a great film.

^I liked Dead Poets' Society. It is honestly one of my favorite all-time movies.

Last two movies watched:

Female Agents
That's the English title, but in French, the original language, it's:
Les Femmes De L'ombre

Decent WWII movie. Like any Western WWII movie, it demonizes Germans, but I never compare the German soldiers/leaders that the US fought with modern-day Germans.

The Interview
This one demonizes the leader of North Korea. It's a comedy. It made me laugh. I hope I don't get killed for saying so. I didn't take it seriously, as I never do with comedies. I recommend it for anyone that needs a reason to laugh out loud at a time where getting a laugh is hard to do.

Both entertaining enough to be worth the time spent watching/listening.

The Score

Is what the descriptions say it is. Not great, but not bad. Worth the time spent watching.

Lawless

Very well done. I recommend it.

Jason Bourne - so glad to see Matt Damon play the role again. He's totally more effective than the other actors that did the part for the previous movies, IMHO.
