This has to be the second best track in the world, but I wish they would take out those two chicanes.

$70-something for a new alternator

Had to replace the old one, since it bellowed out yellow smoke earlier this afternoon...

Cheap-o $45 car battery at Pep Boys

...apparently, the alternator took down the battery with it...

I think I'm actually married to my car...Just like a wife should, it took about 80% of my last paycheck for itself...

Also got a 63 piece socket set, 5 quarts of Shell 10W-30 oil, and a PH8A oil filter

Yummy!

PH8A?

That's huge for a 4-cyl. engine! (you have a 4-cyl. mustang, right?)

I used to put that same size on a 302 V8 Ford Club Wagon van! You might as well drop one of those in your mustang if you're gunna be buying bigass filters like that.

Hmm, maybe it's small for a V8...Ever think about that?

My dad's always remembered PH8A as the oil filter for Ford 2.3s, since he used to own a 1970s Pinto with the same type of engine...The Fram book we looked in to double-check ourselves (still) says PH8A...

...at the same time, the Ford 2.3s are pretty big for a 4-cylinder engine...

I did believe you, I was just suprised. That filter is 2-3 times bigger than the one on my v6 camry and still bigger than the one on my v8 tundra.

A printer. My previous printer was acting strange saying the ink cartridges were the wrong type, even though they were working 3 or so days before. My previous printer was also "cursed" and had grade D color printing quality. My replacement is an HP PhotoSmart C4180.

Spray paint for plastic. Some of my lawn chairs won't clean no matter what chemical or combination of chemicals I use, and it's outdoor party season, so I figured I'd try this pait for plastic stuff out. You gotta texturize the surface with sandpaper or paint thinner for good adhesion first, which is a pain, but otherwise it seems to work well. I just wanted to replace the chairs and give the old ones away, but Renee wanted to paint them dark blue to match other shit, and they don't sell them that color new.

For stubborn stuff like that I use Castrol SuperClean. It'll clean anything. I use that instead of a lot of household chemicals. It'll clean toilets, , stoves, showers, floors, walls (removing the paint if you mix too strong). I did my white plastic chairs with a 50/50 mix, they look new. It even took a big rust stain off. At $10 a gallon, it's a lot cheaper than buying household cleaners. Wear gloves and don't breathe it and don't use the stuff on anything aluminum.

My luck with plastic paint has not been so hot.

Where do you buy Castrol SuperClean? At an auto parts store? (never heard of it till now, heard "castrol" and thought of engine oil)

Since this my first time with plastic paint, I have no idea how long it'll last - what made it bad for you - did it peel or chip, or did it fade, or did it just not go on very evenly? I noticed it drips if you don't do multiple super thin coats. I've only done 2 chairs so far, 3 light coats each, with two cans now empty, at about $4.79 per can.
