Remove message about update

How to remove message about new updates from my server?
I use SHOUTcast Server v2.4.7.256/posix(linux x64) and I don't want to update because my version is more stable as last release.

Thanks a lot!

Have you tried v2.5.1.724?

All known crashes from the earlier v2.5.x releases have been fixed.

Yes, I tried.
I've found several bugs which cause crashes. I wrote an email to the technical support about of the bugs, but I have not received any replies.

I do not recommend anyone to upgrade to this version.

Same here, tested and deleted after noticed bugs. I'm running a DNAS build between v2.4.7.256 and v251 as private server and there is no reason why I should switch to the current build. The count of bug-reports since v251 is very heavy and my build is running without any issues.

BTW: To ignore this message is not the problem but what I totally dislike is the fact, that the new version will be downloaded automatically in the folder where the DNAS is installed. Its totally not ok to roll out updates on this way. Please stop it or tell us the config-parameter to stop it.

What I don't like about the message is that it appears on the public index.html -- it means absolutely nothing to a listener, etc -- the context is completely wrong -- I don't care if it appears on the admin.cgi pages, but on any public DNAS page it means absolutely nothing to anyone that views it -- is a (potential) listener gonna click the "login" or "info" links? don't think so.

better logic is needed -- after I ignore the message for a while, it should disappear, if they're forcing us to upgrade, just do it (make earlier versions invalid), but don't annoy us and our clients with it. I've seen the message, and I've taken the (non-)actions I feel appropriate for my system, don't F*** me up.

I agree that this message shouldnt be on public on the index page. That message is for administrator and not for listeners.

We are working on a fix for the rare-case "backup file" issue you reported.
Said fix will be included in the next update, coming soon-ish....
