Direct Stream

Is it possible that i can use a very directly stream.

Iam organing a Lan - PArty next month. I want to use Shoutcast as a server so that everybody can hear the movie which is currently running on our Beamer.
Iam using the linux version of the Server and we have an 100 Mbit Network. So the puffer normally can be reduced at a minimun.

Is it possibly to get it under 1 sec??????

Sorry for bad english but i am a german pupil.

broadcast at the highest bitrate possible (320kbps, ect) -- this will make the buffer as short as possible.

Is 1.7.1 an older Version. And if yes, how can i get it. What is DNAS?

Is there no chance to reduce the server buffer manually????

there is no settings for it in the config... hmm.. I don't think broadcasting over shoutcast is good for real-time audio that is being synced to something like a movie. Processing time, encoding time, it all adds up.

DNAS is the server that streams the audio. A link to 1.7.1 can be found at: http://www.public.asu.edu/~abarber2/Stuff.html
That may still not be enough since SHOUTcast was not designed for this type of use.
