Winamp3 Video

Hopefully I am making sense here. Is there a way winamp3 can automatically switch between videos and AVS in overlay mode or full screen mode?

Nope. But you can most certainly do that and much more with the "Modern Skin" in Winamp 5.0

There is a Sticky thread at the very top of this forum that is entitled Winamp3 Is Dead, Upgrade To Winamp 5. I think it's very likely that you had never read it, based on the fact that you've posted here for help with Winamp3.

Winamp3 is now effectively dead (although Wasabi development "should" continue - maybe not though) and Winamp3 will be removed from Winamp.com very soon. All Winamp3 forums (including this one) will be locked and archived for read-only purposes (legacy support). We will no longer actively support Winamp3.

Why don't you do what was suggested in the Sticky thread I linked to above for you... uninstall Winamp3 then go ahead and download Winamp 5.0. When you download Winamp 5.0, go ahead and download a current release candidate of Winamp 5.0 (until the final public release comes out, at which time you can upgrade). A current release candidate of Winamp 5.0 is linked to in this discussion thread.

If you prefer, you can instead install a somewhat later release candidate of Winamp 5.0 than the one I linked to above. A later release candidate was "leaked" to the public and can be downloaded via the link in the first post in this thread > Winamp 5.0rc10

*Note: If you are a Winamp3 "die-hard" and decide to keep Winamp3 installed and you also want to install Winamp 5.0, make certain that you do not install Winamp 5.0 within your current Winamp3 directory. Winamp 5.0 is a direct upgrade from Winamp 2.xx and is a separate program requiring installation within its own folder (or within your existing Winamp 2.xx folder if you just want to upgrade).

The LATEST release candidate of Winamp 5.0 is now available. This will "probably" be the last one offered for download in the forums until Winamp Final is officially publicly released.

Winamp5

As a matter of fact I have read the thread and I have installed Winamp5 RC 8, but serperately from Winamp3, unfortunately I have found a couple of bugs in some of the features and in a couple of the plug-ins that I use.
Once all of the bugs have been worked out, I will most likely get rid of Winamp3 and go with Winamp5. But until then I have to make do
with what works best.

OK. Very good. But the answer to your question re: switching between video and AVS has already been answered by me - Winamp v5.0 and not Winamp3 v1.0.

btw... the latest RC (rc666) offered by Christophe in that thread I linked to is the same release currently in use by the beta testing team and will most likely be the last one until the Final. In other words, no more appreciable changes will be made at all. And when the Final is officially offered for download at Winamp.com, any "bugs" (although there are very few right now if any) will also be in the Final. Entirely up to you what you want to do. I did my part by answering your question, by pointing out that once the Final is released you will no longer be able to obtain any support for Winamp3 (dead project), and by recommending to you to use Winamp 5.0 now.

Happy Winamping! (no matter what you decide)

Is the RC666 later then the RC10? I was under the impression from your first reply RC10 was the latest.

RC666 is the latest. Same as used by all beta testers, including myself.

I quote myself from above...
