Problem is that "him" is obviously a generic term. Try "him band" (without quotes).

HIM is Gothic rock/metal. Shitty emo crap is pretty close too actually, although I don't mind listening to them. It's the idiot emo kids and their obsession with HIM's stupid heartogram that kills them.

HIM

HIM is not, I repeat NOT, emo or goth. Their website is heartagram.com. Before you bash someone, you should get your facts straight. Just an FYI, the bio that comes up in the winamp player is for HiM, the jazz band, not HIM the rock band.

True that.
There are clowns here who know not what they speak.
H.I.M. is the proper name, btw.

I'm by no means an expert in Goth, but the voice sounds a hell fo a lot like a goth voice to me

They have a few good songs, but otherwise yeah, you're pretty much right. A guilty pleasure they are.

It's funny seeing 13-16 year old girls start listening to him, falling in love with Ville Vallo (or whatever), and claiming that they were Goths/metalheads. Cos they listen to Him.

I'm far from a young girl but being an old headbanger, I think they (H.I.M.) have a refreshing new sound in an era of really shitty, redundant music. As with the cookie cutter grunge bands and the cookie cutter hair bands before them, this whole new age of Oasis clones, poorly cloned punk and cookie monster metal has seriously started to suck ass.

In all honesty, I didn't hear much for them, only the singles and some stuff the two goth chicks in my HS class showed me. And I thought that they were ok, with the Tainted Love cover being pretty good, but I could never get into them. I felt that they got more exposure than they should've (and while they aren't, it got them stuck on "goth boy band" level).

I can count at least 3 "Oasis clones" that are a) way better than Oasis, b) way better than H.I.M. . But then again, that's me. The poorly cloed punk and metal part is true though.
