Winamp loads very slow

Hi,

After the latest Win10 update Winamp takes much much longer to launch. It used to take a second or two before the update while now it's like a minute or so.

Any ideas?

Can't say I've noticed any difference here. Still loads in seconds.

Unique to u. Might be a plugin or skin issue. Might be fixed with a reinstall.

hi,

thanks for the responses. I don't use any plugins or fancy skins. Same happens all the time with Classic skin, Bento, Big Bento and Modern. I have already tried reinstalling a couple of times...still no go :/

I just installed the latest version with a minimal numer of components (less that Lite) and it seems to be working.

Winamp takes minutes to load now. Windows 10 is fully updated. It was working until around mid-June. Now, Winamp won't even load any skins, and after taking a few minutes to load, the interface is non-responsive, even though the music starts to play.

If it is taking several minutes to load I would guess corruption of some sort, either with the system or Winamp.

First, try reinstalling Winamp
Check the settings for the media library and make sure preloading the library, and scanning for new files when launched are both disabled.

If it is still slow it could be your system.
Error-check your drive with Windows Check Disk.
If it reports block errors you should install a SMART monitor such as Crystal Disk Info and do a full SMART scan with a tool like GSmartControl
