Hi,

What is the best version to use?

Is a new winamp being worked upon?

What are other variants that are out there, like WACUP? Can someone link me to the important places?

I had a kernel error with starting 5.8
Wonder why? :S

Can I install WACUP so it overwrites 5.666, and keeps the library intact?

you can install over your 5.666 installation, but it is generally not recommended to do so
as for the library, i cant answer that

you can also have them both as i have done.
Just install in an other folder instead of the default one.
