make sure that any dsp_*.ini files are removed from your Winamp configuration file before re-installing. otherwise there really shouldn't be anything which should cause the plug-in to lock up.

if it still happens then may be a good idea to have a look at a plug-ins list (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....161361#plugins) to see what else is present in your Winamp install (as some of the security fixes in 5.6 seem to cause older plug-ins issues).
