If Then statements for custom smart view?
Hey everyone, I'd like to see some slightly more advanced programming language make it's way into the smart view editor.
I'd like it so that if there's a certain variable such as rating, track number, year, etc. you could have the smart view do something special with those files, such as have them come up more often while on shuffle, or... well, that's all I really thought of. (for example, I could have all songs rated 5 come up 4x more on shuffle, or for songs rated 4 it could be 3x more, or for songs rated 3 - 2x more) Maybe instead of changing smart view we could just have some way of setting up the level of randomness on a playlist for when it's on shuffle, based on any variable we'd like to put in there (rating, year, etc.) Last edited by vigorousjammer; 16th December 2011 at 17:11. |

Multiple layers of Operators
I'd love to be able to say (5 stars AND lastplayed > 1month) OR (4 stars AND lastplayed > 2months)

(rating = "5" AND lastplay < [1 month ago]) OR (rating = "4" AND lastplay < [2 months ago]) Using Simple mode, you can't write an expression with round brackets. But you can add them by using Advanced mode. And you must add them if you want to enforce the conventional order of operations, which Smart Views ignore.
