On2 CES Announcements.

Among the On2 technology being displayed at the show are:

AOL NSV Live encoding product with On2 TrueMotion compression. This is the launch of On2's collaboration with AOL to supply a new TrueMotion NSV encoder that will compress files for playback in the widely distributed AOL MediaPlayer and Winamp Player. On2 plans to begin selling this product in the next several months.

ON2 is trying to get the set-top box market. They do not care about "us". The chance of them breaking into the market they seek is about the 5 seconds a snow ball would last in hell.

With a company worth of less than Bill Gates lunch money ( a few million they'll have to give back ), they expect to break a market that MPEG4 won.

Even Microsoft didn't make the grade on this generational codec change.
