Synching music to Clix now causes Winamp (version 5.34) to be murdered by windows. Its a step backwards for me. It would synch with 5.33 but not allow the Clix to play the tracks. Now its just borked.

AppName: winamp.exe AppVer: 5.3.4.1273 ModName: pmp_p4s.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 000020fa

Damn! I really don't like having to use MediaMonkey but its the only one that works with Ogg and the Clix.

Once I upgraded to 5.34 final, Winamp crashes whenever I try to transfer anything to my Zen Vision M 30GB. I am running XP SP2. Before the upgrade it worked perfectly.

Player: Creative Zen W
OS: Windows XP
Winamp: 5.34

Winamp will not sync with my player and crashes whenever I try to tell it to do so. Any advice? I really like your guys' player and I would very much like to use it for my Zen, but I guess Ill have to use the crappy player that came with my Zen if it wont work.

Creatve Zen Vison M

I too used to use Winamp to snyc to my Zen, but on 5.34 it just crashes as soon as it tries to put any files on the Zen. (Still deletes files quite happily though!)

Creative Zen Vision M
OS: Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Sevrice Pack 2
Winamp: 5.34

I'm off to uninstall and reinstall 5.33 as that worked fine.

Basically, any PlaysForSure (P4S) devices will crash on sync/transfer in 5.34.

The bug is fixed in 5.35, coming soon.

Yeah, I uninstalled 5.34 and installed 5 instead. Works fine for now and ill update when 6 comes out. Generally major updates are more reliable in my book.

I found an old version of 5.0, uninstalled 5.34, and installed 5.0
It works fine.

But Winamp 5.0 didn't have any native support for Portable Players or Devices.
ml_pmp wasn't implemented until v5.2

v5.0 is old and full of bugs, some critical.

You should install 5.33, and then wait for 5.35
(because as I said, P4S device support is broken in 5.34, ie. because it crashes on sync/transfers, but is fixed again for 5.35, coming soon).

At a guess, you're using v5.0 with v5.3x's ml_pmp/pmp_p4s support.

There's also a chance that your media library database will have become corrupted if downgrading to any version prior to 5.33, because 5.33 & 5.34 use a unicode based database, whereas the mldb in 5.32 and earlier was still non-unicode (ansi) based.

To resolve, you'll need to nuke the database and reimport all your media again.

Anyone, here, use/knows Last.fm ?

I have a problem with songs submission!
If i use Winamp, for listening my mp3s from Creative Vision:M (seen as Portable Device under Media Library) Winamp creates a local streaming file like that:

http//127.0.0.154387a=Anouk&l=Urban%20Solitude&t=Don%27t&d=Zen;.mp3

The last.fm plug-in detect the file like HTTP stream file and doesn't submit for scrobbling

Does anyone know a way to listen and scrob mp3s from my Creative Vision:M from my PC?

thanx

I use last.fm with my Zen/Winamp too. What you want to do is make sure you have the corrent plug-in/software for WINAMP, not for your Zen, because the mp3 player you use is irrelevant to last.fm. What I did when I first installed Winamp was I went to my last.fm software on my computer and told it to load/download the plug in for winamp. After that was installed my last.fm had no trouble reading my music. Im not completely familiar with your problem, actually, but just make sure you have the right plug-in for Winamp.

Basically, just use regedit and go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Audioscrobbler\Winamp Plugin
Make a new string variable (right click on winamp plugin folder on left) then double click on the new variable and type '1' without quotes. You're done. Unfortunately, you won't be able to use the features of the new last.fm at the same time, but at least you'll be able to scrobble your tracks.

I was having issues with WinAmp not recognizing my Nano, until I upgraded to the 5.34B. Apparently, iTunes 7.x has a wonderful little "update" in it which causes something to happen with the Nano so it's unreadable by anything except iTunes. Fortunately, WinAmp fixed this issue.

The only problem I'm having now is that every so often, I'll find an MP3 that worked fine on my shuffle, but crashes my Nano. The only fix I've found is to re-download the mp3 (which works). Other than that, I've had 0 problems with WinAmp and my Nano.

Transfer of Ogg to the Clix and playback is now working (version 5.35). Now all we need is album art to be transferred and all will be prefect.

Creative Zen Vision: M 60GB

Using Creative Zen Vision: M 60 GB
with Winamp V. 5.35

It works fine except for a few problems. There is no functionality for creating, updating or syncing smart playlists and there are no specialized tagging capabilities for videos (they just treat video files the same as music files).

Winamp version: 5.35 (with the separate PMP patch)
Player: Sansa e280

I don't know why but my Sansa's worked fine with Winamp until now. I know people have had problems transferring files and stuff but I don't even get that far. Winamp crashes maybe 10 seconds after it starts when my Sansa is plugged in.

Creative Zen Touch 20 Gb, firmware v 1.01.03 (non-PlaysForSure)
Winamp 5.35

Works fine except that Winamp is awfully slow to start up (well over 2 minutes on my system). Must be a problem with pmp_njb since Winamp loads fine when removing it.

Other people seem to have the same problem.

=> http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=264395

[edit: fixed by upgrading the Zen Touch with the P4S firmware and removing pmp_njb.dll ]

Sansa problems

MP3 player: Sansa E260
Winamp version: 5.35
Windows XP

My sansa freezes when loading onto winamp. Winamp media library reads "Loading Sansa" and the the "connected" animation on the player freezes.

After I disconnect the Sansa, the media library recovers, lists the sansa and it's contents, but says that it's 0% full.

Yes, I've downloaded the updated playforsure dll.
Yes, I've tried to reinstall to versions 5.32, 5.33, 5.34.

The sansa can be connected to the pc with no error. It only freezes when opening winamp.

The last time it was working was before I had to uninstall winamp and reinstall for an unrelated reason. i don't remember what version I was using previously.

Anybody have any ideas?

Sorry for sounding like an idiot (which I am by the way), but I don’t have "Winamp Plugin" under Audioscrobbler in regedit, only "WMP Plugin".

Any ideas?

FWIW, 5.35 didn't make anything better. When I plug it in on my main machine, Winamp crashes. Same as 5.33.

Hope this helps.

Device: Motorolla E398/ROKR E1 Cellular phone
Firmware: 49R
Interface: pmp_usb;

All features working but when syncing have a "slow" interface.
I can working and listen music but it's very-very slow.

I think it's because only USB 1.1 supported, so only 150 Kb/s speed.

Me again:
Device: Toshiba Gigabeat S60 (or just Gigabeat S)
Firmware: Windows Mobile Software for Portable Media Centers, Version 2.11 (632), gigabeat S, Platform Version 1.1 (632.4)

With the 5.5 upgrade, Album data doesn't synch at all. The correct album folders are created in the Media/Music directory on the device, but the files don't seem to be getting tagged with the metadata during the transfer. Not even the playlist workaround (toss album into playlist, synch playlist instead of album, everything transfers okay) from previous versions works any more.

With the new 5.5 and pmp_ipod 0.7, I got it to recognize my brother's iPod Nano 1GB model, but it rearranged the playlist on him (we think it's by album name) and after installing iTunes it wants us to format it before we can edit the playlist in iTunes.

It works, but it completely rearranged the playlist. Any idea how to get it back to the way it was?
