Winamp 5.0rc10

Well, not much to say...

Winamp 5.0rc10 forum post

Don't know if it's leaked or not. Just saw this by pure luck on BetaResource.

Just enjoy this new RC!
And wait patiently for final (If you can... )

Haven't had any problems.

So I would say yes (besides, it's on official one I thought)

What I still don't understand is why the .exe file is labeled "beta 4"...

Do you see a final release of WinAMP5 anywhere?

It's been delayed a few more days, looks like until the 7th now. So there is a new "leaked" RC to play with.

Once it is on Betanews we'll update the threads and links and stuff.

the vis seems to run much smoother and faster. if the final version never gets released, rc10 is close enough for me.

Wait a second, you just said this is a leak?!?!?!?!?!?

I'm not doing anything that could cause the release to be delayed and Leaks are on the top of the list of delaying things (Just look at HL2)!

notice the quotes around "leaked"? this was prolly released to keep the rabid winamp fans from lynching the lot of 'em.

I kid, of course. check the new rc out, it's awesome.

and HL2 wasn't leaked, the source was stolen.

well, there's a rumor it was leaked but I think it's just that a rumor (some say it was leaked on porpuse to justify the delay :P)

But either way I'll only download another RC if I see it officialy by the mods or the devs.

OK, I've heard conflicting stories. Is it or is it not going to be released on the 7th???

Also I'm still having media library redraw problems after I've changed tag info, and I'm still having stuttering problems with the Sonic CD engine. (I just downloaded RC10.) Those, I believe, are the only two remaining problems I'm having....

!!!!!

Exactely. It seemed that the game was not complete at all. So it wasn't due to the source problem, they would postpone it anyway.

I do hope this RC11 is an "official" leak though, like some of you mentioned. If it is not, then I fear we won't see a W5 until next year.

Just a question I know nobody will answer. Who leaks these stuff?

Not. The guy who posted that was some moron posing as the Winamp team. He's been banned from the forums.

Now swag is saying its the 7th, i dunno if its a joke referring to the banned guy or if that is a legit date, but im happy with rc10 so im pretending its final.

I banned the other guy because he posted as "The WA Team".

rc10 is fine by us, but it is a leak from AOL keyword Beta.
Its not Official.

The reason we dont update the forums immediately to deal with the leak is because we dont know what could happen next. Take for example the last AOL keyword leak, it came out, and shortly after betanews had a more recent version available.

Thus, we always wait for betanews or official releases.

I have seen a noticable improvement in the avs as well. It doesn't use all my cpu, only about 50-60% which is fine by me, considering that its pure pixel pushing, as opposed to OpenGl or Direct3D.

So far for 5

I've noticed the same thing. The Beat-Meter isn't as much as a CPU hog.

What seems to be the problem

If you set the opacity to hover, then (assuming you have opacity set to someting other than 100%) when your mouse hovers over winamp it will fade back, but not give it focus.

If you set it to focus, the winamp will fade out until you click on it or give it focus (ie x-mouse, alt-tab switching)

I hope that helps

Can I report a bug?

The auto fade on hover will cause Winamp to autofade even when there is a window over it, i.g, Winamp is getting the absolute mouse position on screen. So let's say I have a window half over Winamp, when I hover the mouse in the portion of that window where Winamp is covered it will still fade. Got me?

LOL, I smell a narcissist.

I'm still using WA 2.95. I had some problems with my file writer output plugin and WA 5 crashing so I went back to a more stable version.
