whew, disabling "run as administrator" on winamp.exe fixed it (for the old version).

Yo, what happened to the Jump to File thing? Can't queue songs or even press Q in the playlist to queue.

I'm sorry I don't understand. I read the thread twice and still don't get it. Do I need to use the old version if I want the basic functionality back? Or you saying install the new over the old and do stuff with the files?

Hey, speaking of using windows media foundation now for various decoding, I just wanted to point out that winamp could also use it for encoding WMA and even AAC-LC

We don't have to lose AAC encoding just because we don't have the rights to the old fhg encoder

DJ Egg, what about Vista™ support ?

Hi. Just seen this. Sorry for the late reply...

We're using the default WinVer.nsh script from the latest version of NSIS

The script only includes the following relevant lines:
                        code:
                        !define WINVER_VISTA_NT 0x86000000 ;6.00.6000
                        !define WINVER_VISTA 0x06000000 ;6.00.6000
                        !define WINVER_2008_NT 0x86000001 ;6.00.6001
                        !define WINVER_2008 0x06000001 ;6.00.6001

I'll add this line to our local version:
                        code:
                        !define WINVER_VISTA_SP2 0x06000002 ;6.00.6002
Hopefully Anders or other NSIS dev will also update it for the next release of NSIS

They may decide to do it differently, e.g. just change the existing WINVER_VISTA value to 0x06000002

Whenever I try and load large numbers of files into 3660, in which the ID3 tags are loaded upon loading the files into the application, it will shut down winamp:

Previous version of winamp did not do they, they did take a long time, but never crashed.

I think the problem is in the performance of your laptop and not in winamp, because 3660 is a lot for the pc

No, it's not the laptop. As I said earlier, it's a bug in the MP3 dll Winamp uses, so when a user has problematic mp3s, it crashes Winamp.
