ShoutCast Developer Key ID

Hello everyone, i'm new to this community, i'm an Android Developer and am trying to create an app which can stream music.

I'm a little confused as to whether an app developer key is needed or not, i have found several posts but they all say different things.

i apologize beforehand if this is not the right place to post this question.

Would someone please point me in the right direction as to where and how to get this developer key?

see http://www.shoutcast.com/Developer (link at the top of the shoutcast.com site) and yes a dev_id is required for all API access (assuming that your request is granted).
