Bug: Winamp launches in window larger than desktop resolution

This is a bug which seems prevelant since the beginning of time. If you launch winamp after either alt-tabbing or quiting a fullscreen program which has a resolution smaller than your desktop resolution, then winamp will launch in a window which is proportionally larger to the ratio that the application was smaller.

For example, If I play FTL and then launch winamp during or after it, it will launch in a resolution ~2x the size of my desktop (since my res is 1080p and FTL is 720p). However, I've been playing some old games via dosbox and winamp launches in a window so large I cannot change its size and causes the program to crash is it uses over 3GiB of RAM.

Is there any resolution to this? Any way of setting a maximum window size winamp is allowed? For it to check the supported display resolution or current desktop resolution? As it seems a very silly issue.
