I ain't voting this year. This isn't democracy any more. It's seems more like a dictatorship to me. Only we decide who the dictator gets to be every 4 years.
There is no sig. |

Not voting is equal to accepting dictatorship IMO. I can't believe that you dislike them both as much.
I suggest making a list of things that you find important, and compare that list to the two candidates. Democracy gave you people these two people to choose from. Wether you like either of them was in the end your (plural form) own choice. But hey, I'm not an american so I'll shut up. Jesus loves you [yes, you] so much, he even died for you so that you will not need to die, but live forever |

Our screwed up political system makes it a moot point to vote. Each individual citizen's vote doesn't actually count toward the candidate that they're voting for. In theory, the system we have in place now isn't bad, but in reality, it hardly works the way it's supposed to.

Have you ever heard of the word Subsidiarity?
Concentrate on the things, that you actually can change. You say the system is fucked up? Then fuck it! I guess it's frustrating and you feel helpless, but in fact you aren't. As long as the substructure is corrupt, there can't grow a well-functioning government on it, but it's up to you and everybody to achieve consensus at the political basis. Therefore you have to know what is going on around in your neighborhood. a wise man said once upon a time "if you want to know, how the society of tomorrow will look like, ask a kindergarten teacher." And indeed, this could easily become a long rant: how do your very own children get prepared for piloting your country once a day. By television? in a DIY manner? They need strictly positive models. If your president fails at this, then it's up to you to look where's hope and then go for it and give perspective. I'm sick of people moaning, that others do not act responsibly. |

I agree with two points already made here: the candidates are indistinguishable and the political system is fundamentally flawed (although, in my opinion, it is working the way it was intended to work).
You are guaranteed to see the same kind of politics regardless of who you choose, as long as the system stays the same. |

^ I Strongly disagree. I don't even want to think about a reversal of Roe V. Wade. And, of course many other things now as a left liberal democrat. Also Sarah Palin is slightly dumber than dirt. Oh, I think she is evil!

to be honest, this like the last election, leaves me wishing we had eligible candidates, it's also funny how a local newspaper here did a story on obama and how people see him as "the peace candidate" and also gave many direct quotes from him saying that the war on iraq and the way bush handled it were exactly what he would have done.
the most surprising quote went something along the lines of : "i think the way the war on iraq was handled was exactly the type of action that was nessecary to make them think twice about defying us" that's not an exact quote as the article was at least a few weeks old and i don't have the paper here anymore to read it directly out of that. but, in summary, it was basically "starting a war was good, it made them fear us" along those lines. I hate everyone, so you don't have to. |

Dear gawd, ever since Palin claimed that being governor of Alaska gave her international experience (Siberia on the left, Canada on the right), I feel like I have to vote for Obama and Biden.
I've never watched any of the Presidential debates, just highlights, but, I really wish I could see the Vice Presidential debates. |

I for one am all for aerial hunting .... of course I am also picturing that to turn out very very similar to survival of the fittest and a law being passed that says the hunters must pilot the chopper ... and they have to fly and shoot at the same time --- no hovering apache's here!
Something tells me we would see a sad decrease in the human population and an increase in the animal population then. ![]() |
