Why when I try to add music through Winamp to my iPod does Winamp crash?

I just downloaded winamp to my windows 7 machine. I did lite installation but added ipod support in the options. I opted out of just about everything in the instal that I could, including winamp agent and toolbars and junk. I plug in the ipod, I can see all my music. When I drag an mp3 into the library a statusbar pops up that says "Finding Metadata" and then windows lets me know that winamp has stopped working, What could be causing this snag? Let me know if you if you need any additional info.
