No, it dosn't make you any of those things, however it dosn't also make you or your views 'right' all the time as some christians would have you believe. (not that I'm saying this is how you come over, some do however.)

being a christian is the best thing. I was raised in a ptentecostal home...I have swayed off the christian lifestyle for about 3 years now and I know I need to get myself corrected...but having a relationship with God is great.
You're alright, man. |

Being religious per se, isn't a bad thing.

It means you have a weak personality. You need someone else to decide what's right and wrong for you.
Yes you're all about being a good person, but why does that necessitate organised, ritualistic behaviour? ![]() |

Generally speaking…
I’ve seen two types of Christians. 1). The ones who will not let anything but the religion touch them in a way that shuts them in to the outside world. Or… 2). The ones who go about everyday life as a Christian with great confidence in all other beliefs and views that others may have, and cherish that. This doesn't mean you become weak, or a bad person, or even “uncool”, that's jumping to a wrong conclusion. It's more of a question on what you are willing to believe about that certain religion, and they way you apply it towards others aswell as yourself. That fundamentally determines your personally characteristics, And it also comes down to whether you are committed to the certain religion. I think that sometimes a certain religion is used in the most unrealistic, ridiculous ways. Mainly for self-security, and sometimes favour from the people who surround you. Sometimes even for ones ego. This brings me to The Holy War against America. This is the one problem I do see with religion. Not only for the fact that it can be exaggerated, but also again used for things such as wars, which is clearly against the original laws of the religion, but often the dark side of man prevails, and wins out against those laws. And unfortunately even individuals such as G.W.Bush use religion as a means of secretly aggressing towards an event such as a war or conflict. Now, typically most would say, "Well you wouldn't know anything you love Satan because you're a SlipKnoT fan, blah, blah" (For one, I don’t believe in Satan) I'd like to remain agnostic of all religions. Only because I found they never did anything for me, because I once was one, but I found that my cynical side overtook my personality and now I don’t generally believe in anything, unless there is proof for it. Which is entirely my opinion of course. Now if you can find self-confidence through Christianity, then that’s great do it, and do it with the confidence that all others around you should see that as a plus in your personality, and a good trait. I personally would try to chain yourself down with such questions as this, instead go through things with little concern and worry. . This is not telling you your religion is wrong, it's asking a serious question.
If you can make your own decisions for what you consider good, then why do you need guidance from a church? It's like getting free holidays and tax priveleges for sharing opinions with a lot of people. ![]() |

But when I come to a situation I haven't been before, it's about weighing advice of people who have similar beliefs (who yes, would be the church), with the Bible, past experiance, reason and the personal revelation by the HS from the time I spend in prayer. Oversimplifications are undoubtedly dangerous, Raz. [edit] @taylormemer I know a lot of Christians that are Slipknot fans. Me and a couple Christian friends of mine went and saw a Slipknot/Fear Factory (im a big FF fan) in Columbus, OH. I don't know how you've gotten your view of Christians, but you don't have to pin us into some type of cookie cutter! ![]() elevatorladyelevatorladyelevatorladyelevatorladyelevatorladylevitateme |

If you're going to go by the book deeder, we're not in the garden of eden, we're being punished for something we did in the garden of eden, therefore this is a completely different matter.

Anything on this earth can be used for good or bad. It is all up to man's FREE WILL. Most of the non-Christians forget one of the teachings of Christianity is that God gave man a free will to do as he so desires.
Mankind is free to embrace God or reject Him. And God has prepared a place for both camps to spend eternity. |
