Can't edit Meta data of mp3 file

Hi. I've got following problem,
when I try to edit the ID3 Meta data for an mp3, I get the following error message:

but when I open the file in the Windows Explorer, it is possible to change the ID3 tags.

the user under whom winamp is running has full access to the file and the above directory.

but what I don't understand, if I check the general information, windows says the files
are write protected:

could that be the reason? I haven't found a way to remove the write protection. whenever
I uncheck the box and apply the setting, after reopening the dialog, the checkbox is again
checked.

Thanks in advance and kind regards
Raver

Try removing the read-only attribute on the song file itself and not the folder.

here's an app I use all the time, to make images hidden and archives, but not system files:

http://www.petges.lu/home/

it would work for mass changing all your files as well.

Hi, on the files, windows says there is no write protection, means the checkbox in
the property dialog is unchecked. I even tried your tool for access Control, and
did the following command as administrator in the cmd:
attrib -r /S /D D:\musik\*.*

but same problem. I still can't edit the metadat through winamp. (even when I start
Winamp as Admin...)

don't know what I can do....

this might help as well, I use this too:

and it might also be a thorny OS permissions issue. the forums have several threads on that.
