a frozen thing; crustless pot pie. i tried to be fancy and toast some crackers with a little bit of olive oil to add to it. it didnt make a difference in how the crackers tasted though, they just tasted a bit burnt. i was trying to improve it a bit. it has these weird gummy tabs in it instead of the crust. meh, it wasnt terrible. it shall settle my hunger well enough until tomorrow.

Already yesterday in our cooking-group we had made baked potatoes and baked vegetables.
After 28 years it was my second chance, this time with success. In 1988 I didn't get my part of the dinner, which I myself had made for me and 3 other people. A fifth person suddenly had appeared, and I dislike this person. I had retired, and when I came back, my part was away. Hopefully I can really cut the contact to this person. Yesterday we had pumpkin with rice. The other people in our cooking-group are very gentle, and I can harmonize with them well. It is very important, that people harmonize each other, if they sit together for a lunch or dinner.
I think, You will understand, that in 1988 I refused to sit with the disliked person at the table for the dinner, and Frank agrees with me, since also he himself saw this person the first time in 1992. This arrogant and spiteful person never had apologized all over the years. And it is our decision, if we finally want to cancel the contact, because we finally want to be left alone. We don't want to get our life dictated. We are adults, and we can make our own decisions. Our parents themselves never had made such problems for us. DRINK BEER NOW
(Forum King) |
Deer (venison) sausage, fries, picked peppers, and a beer.
Pan fried medallions for the meat, and just basic russet potatoes scrubbed and sent through the fry cutter and then deep fried. Seasoned salt on the fries. Top the fries with any random cheap seasoning; for me tonight it was just Lawry's seasoned salt. The peppers were canned from the garden. The beer was Straub. They're inexpensive, high quality yet basic recipe, and the only brewery that still uses reusable bottles. I recently had two deer worth of meat given to me. Pickling instructions... kinda long, but here's the basics... Grow and pick peppers of all sorts, garlic, and dill weed. Clean and cut peppers, clean garlic cloves. Add pickling salt, dill seed, pickling spice, and other ingredients from above into mason jars. Pour boiling half-and-half mix vinegar and water to nearly fill the jars. Process according to USDA guidelines. http://nchfp.uga.edu/publications/pu...ions_usda.html One of these days I'll start uploading pictures. Don't forget to live before you die. ![]() |

I have yet to try pickling anything, but i forage and preserve a lot of mushrooms and berries as well as hunt and have a small farm where i raise dual purpose chickens and meat rabbits. So i go through plenty of processing in a year. Not able to grow as much here as i would have liked (north of the arctic circle), but the foraging does provide a nice variety of vegs so that compensates some. Setting up some hugelkultur rows so that might improve what i can grow, time will tell. Oh and for dinner tonight i had a lazy dinner of ham and eggs. Been boiling some stew chickens half the day so that will give me a kickass soup for tomorrow and then a nice beef roast for sunday is dry brining in the fridge as i write.

I love these threads that sort of last forever - anyway, tonight it is pork stew - will be making corn and carrots in a big to go with it and maybe some celery sticks. Guess which dish will remain untouched at the end of the meal?

carl's jr, i forget why i eat there, no one who works at any of them can understand something as simple as "no ketchup, mayo and mustard only".

Two [pork?] sausages, steamed carrots, steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes with a little bit of olive oil spread (butter substitute).
Simple and effective. ![]() "My heart hates uggos." –J.D. |

St. Patrick's day caused the obligatory corned beef and cabbage dinner. I really should be eating this stuff a lot more often, as good as it is.

My favorite recipes from a healthy dinner ideas website. A Veggies recipe - This grilled mushroom burger is better than a regular beef burger. Honestly! You get the same feel of having a patty and all the tasty toppings in between a bun, but you won’t feel lethargic after downing a bunch of beef. The portobellos get a nice, smoky flavor from the grill, plus the garlic, onions and goat cheese pair perfectly with it. Diced tomatoes and fresh greens add some crisp, and all the toppings are situated within the mushroom cap. Now that’s what I call a burger!

So... forks and knives. What is a fork other than a collection of spears that is used to THRUST into what ever you intend to put into your mouth and BITE and GRIND and MASH with your terrible sharp TEETH.
Don't even get me started on knives. Food safety? A diabolical myth, perpetuated by demonic ne'er do wells whose agenda is shrouded in the darkest secrecy. We all know that eating leads to defecation, which is the third most unsafe activity that a human can engage in. "I don't even use winamp or really know what it is. yeah" - Thedesignisgreat |
